Michigan on the brink
Michigan had such high hopes this season. Preaseason Top 5. Returning highly-ranked QB and RB, an offense that was expected to score at will. Ohio State at home.
But Saturday night they had a tough loss at Camp Randall. The Wolverines were in the game but never in control, and struggled offensively all night. The Detroit News says it well:
...they are still struggling to find a rhythm and to avoid and overcome turnovers. That was clearly evident Saturday night, with two critical late turnovers, several special-teams mistakes and missed opportunities in Michigan's Big Ten opener against Wisconsin at rowdy Camp Randall Stadium.
The next month for Michigan looks very very tough. On the road again at East Lansing to face the hottest team in the Big-10 -- Michigan State. Then Minnesota and Penn State at home -- two early leaders in the conference. Then at Iowa, who will have something to prove to the world after their thrashing by Ohio State this weekend.
The vultures are circling -- ...disappointment is a generous way to describe a season that is slipping away from the Wolverines. Now it's time to question everything. Let the second-guessing begin.
