Any angle is a good one for bookies, slumping Boilermakers
Can't say I've ever seen such in-depth coverage of field conditions and their effect on play from an odds and rankings site, but Covers.com does a remarkably good job explaining how Purdue's woeful Prescription Athletic Turf is creating a battefield-like playing surface for the hapless Boilers and their opponents this fall, and how that affects sports gamers:
For his part, Covers Expert Shawn Torrey concurs with oddsmakers saying bettors should be wary of over-valuing the situation.“In most cases the better team will still prevail,” says Torrey. “Both teams play on the same field and while you could argue the home team has an advantage here, the results don`t support that theory whatsoever. To date, Purdue is 0-4 ATS on the chewed-up surface.”
