Virginia Tech unveils new uniforms
Virginia Tech has unveiled their new uniforms for the upcoming season. There are a few pictures available on some of the subscription sites, but I've only seen this picture from the HokieSports homepage so far.
They look a little plain. The new uniforms are typical Nike designs, but you would think they would at least have the "VT" on them, or at least say "Virginia Tech" or "Hokies". Nope. Nothing.

Sorta reminds me of Miami's uniform with different colors.
I wish like hell someone would redesign the LSU uniform. It's HIDEOUS. I'm always telling my wife that if we win the Powerball I'm going to offer LSU a donation of few million bucks if they'll let me design new uniforms. I'd prolly ask for seats in the new RichPeopleBoxes™ too.

OK, the micro "VT" escaped my thirty-something eyes. I'm thinking that they need to do something more, though. Put something on the sleeves or something.
Also, I wonder if they'll have the player names on the back. I really wish schools would go back to the old way of no names.
Dave needs to redesign the jerseys. What do you think of going with the new Bengals look in LSU colors? It's kinda bad in orange, but might look snazzy in gold.

Dave's nuts. There isn't any need to monkey with LSU's uniforums. The last guy to do that was Gerry Duh-nardo and lookit what gris gris got put on his sorry butt for those purple pants by that designer, whatsisname - Gaudauffelle or Bahtuglie or whatever. They were so bad, people sent money in on condition they be retired permanently.
Go mess with Penn State - they've got a blank canvas for ya.

Reaction among the Hokie fanbase is vociferous but mixed -- in general, if you're over 30, you hate them, and if you're under 30, you like them. I'm 24, and I just don't care -- we've known for a couple of years that Nike was bound to redesign the unis, and as expected, they inherit a lot of design cues from Miami's 2002+ unis. I suppose it's a better way to keep the message boards occupied than last year's extended conference realignment drama.
I need to shape up here -- can't have you covering all the Hokie news. ;-)
