Six Clemson Players Suspended
After a review of video by ACC officials, six players have been suspended for one game in 2005 for Clemson. The suspension for each player must take place at some point during next season. The players suspended include: Nathan Bennett, Brandon Cannon, Duane Coleman, Roman Fry, Maurice Nelson and Anthony Waters. Yusef Kelly, who was a senior, would also have been suspended if he hadn't exhausted his eligibility.
Letters of reprimand were sent to Cory Groover, Tommy Sharpe, Nick Watkins and Bobby Williamson.
The suspensions stemmed from a 4th quarter brawl during the November 20 game with South Carolina. Clemson declined any bowl invitations in advance and South Carolina followed suit.

On Monday, USC announced that they were rejecting a bowl bid. Less than two hours later, Clemson called a press conference to announce the same. But it was USC that made the inital decision. Until USC did it, Clemson said that they were going. They were forced into it by the USC decision
