Bowden adds Marshall OC to staff
Florida State Head Coach Bobby Bowden is expected to announce the hiring of Marshall offensive coordinator/offensive line coach Mark McHale to replace Jimmy Heggins as the Seminoles' offensive line coach this week. McHale previously worked for Bowden at West Virginia.
McHale directed Marshall's high speed offense for several seasons and has been at the university for five years. FSU's offense struggled to it's lowest output since 1981 at 25.2 points per game.
It's being reported that this will be the only addition to FSU's offensive coaching staff, ending rumors that OC Jeff Bowden could be fired. The good news is that McHale will definitely hold some sway. His influence could help the Seminoles revitalize their offense in play design, but he will not have any official role in the play calling.
