SEC coaches need to do their laundry

Despite their respective millions, it appears that Alabama coach Nick Saban and Georgia coach Mark Richt are badly in need of a wardrobe upgrade, or so they would have you believe.

A day after the Bulldogs announced they would wear black uniforms against the Crimson Tide and asked fans for a "black out", Saban pulled just any old thing out of the closet for his Monday presser. It just so happened it was a black Alabama golf shirt.

Asked about his color of choice, a smiling Saban responded, "Well, this is the only shirt I could find when I woke up this morning."

A day later the Bulldogs coach coincidentally changed his shirt color, too.

At Georgia's news conference Tuesday, the usual red backdrop had been replaced by black. Richt normally wears black against the red backdrop but wore a red shirt this week and had a retaliatory response.

"I'm big on black," Richt said when asked about the blackout. "It's usually my color of choice, but this is the only shirt I had in the closet today when I got up."

This comes on the heels of an Alabama assistant coach's pithy comments on the blackout:

"They're wearing black because they are going to a mother f***ing funeral."

I'll say this... the buildup to undefeated #8 Alabama versus undefeated #3 Georgia is getting juicy.

And make no mistake about it, there is a lot riding on this game, even if the two teams are from different SEC divisions. This potential preview of the SEC championship game could be the key turning point in both teams' seasons.

If Georgia wins, they have a legitimate claim to moving up in the polls, especially if it is a convincing win. With a victory the Dawgs become the clear favorite for the SEC title.

If Alabama wins, well... y'all just know that all hell is going to break loose if Bama wins this thing.
