Arkansas, A&M negotiating annual Dallas game
Don't look now, Dallas.... but here comes an A&M/Arkansas annual matchup??
Arkansas AD Frank Broyles confirmed that both Arkansas and Texas A&M have been approached about reviving their old Southwest Conference rivalry. If a deal can be struck, the annual matchup would be played a neutral site game played in the Dallas Cowboys' new stadium.
"We've been asked to consider it," Broyles said. "We're considering it. That's all I know."
According to the Dallas Morning News, the Arkansas contingent will be in Dallas soon to view the stadium plans and review the final contract.
Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is a former Arkansas football player and a strong Razorbacks supporter.
Dallas is host to the annual Texas-Oklahoma matchup and has been involved with on-again, off-again negotiations to find a second DI-A game to be played there. If the deal does go through, as sources indicate it will, then it could place in future Razorback games in Little Rock in jeopardy.

Bevo Boy Comment #9...It is a home game for Texas regardless if Oklahoma wears their Crimson home jerseys. It will be a home game for Texas A&M as well. It's about the money as far as Oklahoma and Arkansas is concerned!

This is a great deal for A&M if they can make it happen. #1, it matches us annually with another solid (and more importantly recognizable) program and #2 it takes the absurd notion of a neutral site game with Tech off the table.

Bevo Boy Comment #17 when I moved to Austin the sports announcers here referred to that has an "unofficial" home game for Texas. When Oklahoma started winning in the series again they refer to it now has a "neutral" site. The game is in Dallas, Texas...Texas soil...Texas Longhorns home game. Long as Oklahoma gets paid to keep it there then I have not a doggone thing to say! When Texas is the "home" play the game in Dallas, Houston, San Antoni, or Austin...I don't care BUT when Oklahoma is the home team, play the game in Norman!

OU Ron Comment #19...I was stationed in Fort Sill, Oklahoma in 02/93 to 04/93. It was basic training for the Army so I never left the base at all. I became an Oklahoma fan on 01/01/84 after seeing them lose to Washington 28-17. I started to get interested in college football at the time so my brother and friend asked me who I liked. I said that team that just lost. They asked me why I picked the Sooners. I said that way if they start winning people want say I like them because they won.

Lennie - The Cotton Bowl divides at the 50 yard line. Crimson and Cream at one end, and Burnt Orange and White at the other.
The distribution is so even that because of the tunnel at the OU end, a small block of OU seats are set aside in the Texas endzone.
My preference is for a normal home and home rotation.
