Arkansas puts end to SEC West incenst with Petrino contract
The Gold Mine plucked this gem from Head Coach Bobby Petrino's new contract at Arkansas:
Petrino's five-year contract with Arkansas pays him $2.85 million per year and includes a $2.85 million buyout if he leaves to take a college or pro job during the first four years. It also includes an agreement that Petrino not leave to accept a job with another SEC West school.
Not that Petrino would leave for another job mind you... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... but I think it does speak to two trends brought to the surface with this hire: Petrino's wandering eye and the inbreeding within the SEC West.
Just think about it - five of the six SEC West coaches have worked at a rival division school.
Nick Saban coached at LSU, and is now at Alabama.
Tommy Tuberville coached at Ole Miss, and is now at Auburn.
Houston Nutt coached at Arkansas, and is now at Ole Miss.
Bobby Petrino coached at Auburn, and is now at Arkansas.
Sylvester Croom coached at Alabama, and is now at Mississippi State.
That's a lot of coaching incest going on in the SEC West.
But now that Petrino's contract forbids it, well... I guess that's the end of that, right? Right?

You have to be kidding me the way this whole thing went down. Are there any Razorback fan's that are either regretting how Jeff Long went about bring in Petrino..or that forever understand Petrino will be hated for the way he went about this move. And now his name is synonomys with UA. Come ON!! Good luck Razorbacks with your stand up, big on character coach. The same one who preached committment and playing all 4 quarter's to his Falcons team, and within 24 hours leaves a stamped signed letter telling them he resigned before the season was complete. Poor choices by all, and at the end of the day what does this teach his own children, and the Razorback players? That you can quit and move on when times get tough. A lasting legacy.

Zac: It's not me that's saying it.
For the record, I rented and watched Deliverance last year, because I had never seen it. What a boring movie, peppered with that one dramatic scene. It was supposed to be 'groundbreaking' for the times, but by today's standards, it's just plain awful.
Who could dream up stuff like that, anyway? All that movie was good for was as a punchline for nervous suburbanites and Ned Beatty aficionados...

Man, that kid in the first part of the movie, with the banjo. I think they really plucked him out of Appalachia. He must have grown up to be Rockytop22:

No one has ever come up with an effective counter. Shuts them up every time. Can even be used in conjunction with the "never fight a land war in Asia" and "never go against a Sicilian when death is involved" axioms.

Ron: Only if everyone else backed you up. If he was on the outside of an inside joke, he's get frustrated and leave.
Maybe this is how we deal with the trolls from now on. Everyone addresses the troll with 'h'and leaves it. They'll get the message. It'll be the ultimate argument against them--similar to "42" being the answer to the question of What's the answer to life, the universe, and everything.

I would never leave Auburn University. This great institution is the greatest in the SEC. I think after the 2008 season you will be glad that I'm staying at Auburn. I also want you to know; I never contacted Texas A&M or any other school. I infact told my agent , Mr.Sexton, to inform all these universities that I was committed to Auburn. Tommy
