BCS Standings - Nov. 2th 2008

The new BCS Standings have been released. At this point the BCS score matters more than the actual rank, though the order of the top 5 is gaining significance. The formula 25-80*(BCS points - 0.0800)/3 can be used to estimate what ranking a score actually represents.

Automatic Qualifications
The automatic qualifications are listed at the official BCS website.

No teams have secured an automatic qualification at this time.

Penn State, Alabama, Texas Tech, Utah and TCU are the only team with the 9 wins needed to be BCS eligible, if they can remain in the top 14.

Conference Reports
The number of top 25 teams and the rank of the conference champion are two of three components used to determine future automatic qualification, as described in the final section of this page. The data below is for the current year only, rankings reflect the current leader for each conference. The BCS uses a 4 year window.
