Ranking the Big XII Recruiting Classes
Here's a quick review of the 2005 recruiting classes for the ACC as ranked by Rivals.com:
1. Oklahoma (National #3)
2. Nebraska (#5)
3. Texas A&M (#10)
4. Texas (#20)
5. Texas Tech (#36)
6. Kansas State (#37)
7. Missouri (#38)
8. Oklahoma State (#42)
9. Colorado (#43)
10. Kansas (#48)
11. Iowa State (#57)
12. Baylor (#59)
We knew the Sooners were going to be in the nation's elite for recruiting. We suspected that Coach Fran would turn out another great class at Texas A&M (but top 10! Wow!) What I never saw coming was the recruiting class that Callahan put together at Nebraska. I was impressed with NU's top 30 class last year, but top 5...I'm shocked.
The Huskers got at least three studs: nationally #3 QB Harrison Beck, #2 RB Marlon Lucky, and DB Zackary Bowman. Combine those with some really good linemen on both sides of the ball & the Huskers are looking like a team that's quickly on the rebound.
