Boise State moving to the Mountain West?
The Mountain West Conference is currently in negotiations with officials at Boise State and the Humanitarian Bowl to place a MWC team into the annual blue-turf classic in the event that an ACC team is not eligible. The agreement could potential place a MWC team into the bowl on a more permanent basis in future years, once the ACC's agreement ends.
And that's where the story gets interesting, according to the ReviewJournal.com, as it seems that Boise State could hold the bowl game over the conference's head as an opportunity to join the Mountain West Conference.
Thompson didn't deny Boise State might use the bowl as a means to gain admission into the Mountain West."It's two different deals, but they probably will," Thompson said. "I think we will get the Roady's Humanitarian Bowl done with or without Boise State's influence."
We haven't had a good MWC conference rumor in a bit. If there's going to be a WAC team make the jump, I think the Broncos would be the best option (and probably the only good one, at this point, from the WAC).
