UCF Knights have (phone) sex appeal
As any PR representative knows, the only thing worse than forgetting to publish a contact number is publishing the wrong number. And the only thing worse than publishing a wrong number?
Well... ask the University of Central Florida's new Director of Athletic Communications, Leigh Torbin.
Torbin published coach George O'Leary's press conference number incorrectly, directing unsuspecting reporters to a phone sex line.
The Tampa Tribune's Brett McMurphy got to speak with a woman who offered to pretend to be the Knights coach.
"Hi sexy, you've reached the one-on-one fantasy line. Where the girls are..." the recording said. A woman that answered said this was not the number for O'Leary’s conference call, but told me she would pretend to be George O'Leary if I really wanted. I told her no thanks.
Since it wasn't a UTEP call, the reporters realized the error and alerted UCF, who then rescheduled the call for later this week.
Word has it that Coach O'Leary may be asking callers what they're wearing.
