TCU folds like a Card Table
Let's do the math shall we?
TCU + Loud Crowd on the Road + a decent defense=a loss for the Frogs.
In all seriousness, TCU made a great run at it but they just weren't good enough to do it. I guess this is another win for the BCS-boosters, but its mostly a loss for the Horned Frogs.
Too bad for Texas Christian, but they didn't have the athletes on defense to play man coverage with the talented Eagle receivers. USM ran past them all night long.
Not to mention the disappearance of TCU's offense, which went into the Witness Protection Program tonight. Hassell finally showed his inexperience, and the 2 interceptions showed how rattled he was by the crowd noise.
Southern Miss came out fired up and played a great game, and they look to be in great shape to win their first Conference USA title since 1999.

Was anyone else not shocked, as I was not, at the outcome of this game?
Southern Miss has a good football team. I figured that they would pull out a tough win. While I admit that I didn't think the over/under would be as much as it was, it still wasn't that surprising.
Were there actually people out there were surprised by this outcome?

I was not surprised at all. I thought the Eagles played a much tougher schedule this year than the Frogs did, and it showed in the way the teams played. TCU looked whupped as soon as they got down by a large margin, and even thought they tried to comeback, they should've plyed with that kind of emotion earlier in the game.
