Frogs choose bowl; C-USA bowl schedule set

Who says you can't come home again? A la Boise State, TCU has maneuvered itself into position to play on it's home field and accepted an invitation to play in the inaugural Fort Worth Bowl on December 23rd. The Frogs will face WAC Champ Boise State.

TCU had balked at a GMAC Bowl invite because of a conflict with the school's exam schedule and a shaky experience during the last trip to Mobile. Instead, Louisville will play as the Conference USA team in the GMAC Bowl against Miami (Ohio) from the MAC.

In other bowl news, Southern Miss (Conference USA Champion) will face off in the AXA Liberty Bowl against Mountain West Conference champion Utah. Houston will travel to the Sheraton Hawaii Bowl on December 25, taking on Hawaii of the Western Athletic Conference. Memphis has accepted a bid to the New Orleans Bowl, where it will play Sun Belt Conference champion North Texas on December 16.

Maneuvering and backdoor politics notwithstanding, TCU vs. a Big XII team in Fort Worth sounds like the most entertaining game in that bunch to me.

I don't know.. I enjoyed the thought of watching them play Miami (OH). Although Miami would be a lot harder on them than say Big XII #8 or whatever spot they are getting. And another slightly other note, if the Big XII gets two teams in the BCS, then they won't have a bowl eligible team to play against TCU.

If the Big 12 gets the expected two teams (Oklahoma and Texas) into the BCS, the Fort Worth Bowl would not have a Big 12 representative. Who knows which other conferences have a team that would make an interesting match-up versus the Frogs.
    Personally, I'm voting for UCONN.
