Bobby Ross new coach at Army

Bobby Ross was named the new head football coach at the United States Military Academy Tuesday.

Army had been on the look out for a high profile coach since firing Todd Berry.

The school has been looking to make a recruiting splash after setting an NCAA record on Saturday as the only team in history to go 0-13.

Tom Osborne, who has been a part of the search committee, recommended recently deposed Neb. Head Coach Frank Solich, who declined the job.

Ross appears to be the caliber of hire the school was looking to make, with his background.
Ross was a head coach in the NFL for nine seasons with the Chargers and the Lions, taking the Chargers to the Super Bowl in 1994. Before that, he was a head coach at the college level for 15 years at The Citadel, Maryland and Georgia Tech, winning a share of the National Championship in 1990.
