I don't think Miami can match UL score for score if it becomes a shootout. The Canes' offense lacks the precision. Miami's got to find a way to get to LeFors.

I agree completely, if Louisville gets points on most drives and forces Berlin into some mistakes, they'll win in convincing fashion. The Cards have enough weapons to make this ugly if Berlin gives his best Chris Rix impression.

I have to keep reminding myself....Miami plays from behind a lot (at least in the last few year), and they usually come back. Certainly not panic time.

I agree about Bush. It doesn't hurt that he's a home run threat. Is this the LeFors coming out party? I like what I see.

150+ yards through the air already for LeFors? I hope Ed Reed and Sean Taylor aren't watching this game, they'll be throwing up on themselves. I've got to wonder though, how long until Antrel Rolle asserts himself and makes one of his ridiculous plays. You've got to think that LeFors will come back down to Earth sometime tonight.

Miami needs a big play. They also need to give the D a long breather.

Well, LeFors is bound to make a bad throw eventually. The Cards just have to hope Rolle or somebody else doesn't pick it for six.

What Louisville must do in the second half:
1. Keep attacking offensivly
With your offense and the big-play capability of Miami playmakers, field position matters little. Dance with the girl that brought you. On road, keep the heat on the 'Canes.2. Continue to pressure Berlin
After he took a shot in the first half, he did little. If you go prevent, Gore will and Berlin will pick you to death underneath.3. Tend to business
Dumb penalties like the excessive celebration flag in the first half give free yards to Miami. Make Miami earn everything they get.Keys for Miami:
1. Make something happen on the first drive
Get the home crowd back in it (and I don't mean the booing). Hopefully score and tighten this thing up.2. Stop the dumb penalties
Penalties extended one U of L scoring drive and take you out of the red zone on a promising drive. Play smart.3. Cover the outside
Louisville's slip-screens and swing passes must stop. Bait LeFors into a mistake by forcing him throw down the field.

Louisville=good enough just to lose barely. For every one huge upset in college football, there are 8 or 10 games like this. Louisville's a top 20 team, but not much better than that. What a game of two halves. LeFors had Heisman first half; Berlin had Heisman second half.
...scrum breaks out post-game. Why am I not surprised?

I absolutely hate it when athletes thank God for victories... note to Brock Berlin, somehow I doubt that God decided to make Louisville suffer tonight.

Berlin is trying to emulate Chris Rix in all facets of the game including the postgame interview. He has the inconsistency down, just it fluctuates from first half to second rather than going a whole game at a time either good or bad.

I agree, Jeff. Berlin's inconsistancy will come back and bite Miami against a deeper, stronger team.

How many deeper, stronger teams does Miami have left on the schedule? VT's not there this year, Virginia is definitely not deeper and probably not stronger (they haven't evidenced a passing threat yet), and they've already taken care of FSU.
It really seems that this year it's USC, Oklahoma and a big crapshoot from #3 down. Nobody else I've seen is championship-worthy.

I meant deeper and stronger than Louisville, not Miami. UVa will give Miami some trouble, I think. If Miami struggles in the first half again as they did tonight, they can't expect an opposing defense to always roll over like Louisville's did tonight. That's what I was trying to say.

Hell,
If they get their act straight the next 3 weeks and Berlin has an off night (accompanying the rest of the team looking ahead to UVa, Clemson might give Miami a bigger challenge than expected.(Still half asleep so excuse the delusions)
