I have been hearing and reading quite a few articles about the possibility of a season with 4 undefeated teams. If this happens, what does the "all-powerful" BCS committee do in this instance? Well, there's not much that they can do this year to change how the Championship is going to play out. The format change that is needed to clear up this jumble is scheduling. The National Champion should be required to play, on the following year's schedule, the winners of the other 3 BCS bowls. The runner-up would schedule the losers of the other 3 BCS bowls. And, it should move down the line. Why not make the teams that claim to be the best play only the best. The so-called big boy's of college football should not be playing D1AA or D2 schools at all. Let's think about college football being competitive across the board for all the conferences to have shots at the big money bowl games.

I still think you should have found a way to work "Johnson" into the headline, but even so I agree with Pete.

Why doesn't the BCS have playoffs to see who goes to the National Championship? That way if there are more than two undefeated teams, they can have a shot to go to the National Championship. It would be something to work and play hard for instead of having these Bowl games that don't add up to anything. The BCS can take the top 16 teams at the end of the season and let #1 play #16; #2 play # 15; #3 play #14 and so forth and when it comes down to the #1 and #2 teams, they can play in the National Championship. It will mean a whole lot more for the school and the players when they play hard and earn that spot in the "big game." Anyone with comments email me!! gator80@charter.net

Actually, we all agreed that a Playoff would be bad for College Football and the BCS works perfectly, right folks?

(sorry...I had to...I'm the only one that doesn't want a playoff it seems...)

I agree that a large scale playoff would not be good for college football. I love the regular season competition and the bowl tradition.

What I think the BCS should do each year, is host a three game playoff between their top four teams. Think about it, they're talking about already adding a fifth game. How about each year, The BCS hosts 5 bowl games, two of the games will remain invitational, and two more will sit as playoff games between the #1 and #4 teams, and the #2 and #3 teams. The winner of those games play in a repeat of the two invitational bowls a week later in the national title game. The playoff bowls will rotate just as the national title game already does, never having a playoff and the national title hosted by the same bowl. 1-4 are already ensured a spot in the BCS now. The teams that made it all the way would reap the most financial and publicity awards, and the BCS would love the extra exposure and media attention. Everyone wins!

Of course there are forseeable: controversy over who derserves the #4 spot would probably be greater than the #2 spot. Less freedom for BCS bowls to select their matchups (though I don't think the playoff games would care, the other bowls might). At any rate, it is a great compromising solution to the problem. And if you have a problem with the existing system, it's a definate improvement.
