Week 6Date: 9/29/2004
No losses in the top 25 is decidedly boring, but there were some close calls.

USC and Boise State barely eeked out wins this past week. Will that be a wake-up call, or a harbinger of meltdown? |
| Oregon | ![]() |
When Oregon debuted their new uniforms last year, they were highly criticized. CW doesn't like them any better a year later. Is anyone in Oregon listening? |
| Vanderbilt | ![]() |
Vandy is only 1 and 11 at home against SEC opponents over the last three seasons, but they've got Mississippi State this week and MSU will be without their starting QB. They've gotta like their chances. |
| Minnesota | ![]() |
It's 3rd down and 4, you're up 36-17 against Northwestern with just over 3:00 left to play. What do you call? If you're Minnesota's Glen Mason, you call a Halfback Pass. |
| QB Bobby Seck (Hofstra) | ![]() |
Sure, he was playing |
| UNLV's Punt Squad | ![]() |
With more than 20 attempts, UNLV's net punting average is a paltry -1 yards per attempt. Looks like the Rebels should start going for it on fourth down. EVERY fourth down. |
| This Week's SEC Games | ![]() |
This week the SEC posts some great conference match-ups that are bound to shake the polls up a little. Auburn plays at Tennessee and LSU travels to Georgia. Battling for the bottom of the conference, Vanderbilt will host Mississippi State. |

A good offense with speed at recievers and a good line will eat up thier defense. They have a solid offense that one them the game, but having watched the entire game, it looked to me like BYU found the hole in their armor, but was unable to exploit it for the 16 points they were down when they found it.
If (the usually incredably accurate, and very versitile) Matt Payne had made that last second feild goal, well within his range, this story would have been different.
