Pete, I think its great that you refuse to give Utah any credit. So not only are they not a top 6 team, their not even top 14? It looks like everyone else here at fanblogs disagrees with you.

Pete's pretty thick-skulled, Bob, but the guy always has the goods to back up his views. I think I remember Pete's system being should A be expected to beat B, and so on down the line.

I am sorry, but Utah is better than Oklahoma State or Louisville.

On the other side, those two points wouldn't have changed the standings much. That is why their are 9 (only 9 this week ?!) opinions balanced against each other.

With the election and all, maybe some of us took a break this week.

Utah, right now, is sitting just outside of the top 14 for me. Had Texas A&M throttled Baylor, I'd probably have Louisville on the outside looking in. Utah & A&M were doing a good job of showing that the Utah loss might not have been a fluke -- that maybe Utah really was that good. Losing to Baylor is a huge setback in that department. Could be that the Aggies are getting good at looking past opponents.

The bottom line for me is that Louisville played Miami (one of the best teams in the nation, regardless of last week's outcome) down to the wire. Okla. State did the same against Oklahoma.

Utah has beaten A&M and UNC. They may well be in the top 14, but I'm not convinced of it. They haven't played the games necessary to allow me to say such a thing.

Bob: if everyone agreed we wouldn't need polls, now would we?

I've had Utah ranked in the same spot for weeks and weeks now.

To me, i've stated several times on this site before, I think they are a solid top 10 team, but they are are not a top 5 beat anyone anywhere type of team.

They've beaten everything thrown at them this season, and that in itself is a tough task and they should be commended.

I see them doing what no non-BCS team has done to date, grabbing that eighth and final BCS slot in the Fiesta Bowl. Which would be great for both the school and the Fiesta Bowl.

They've beaten everything thrown at them... while that's great for them, it's not impressing me at all.

Harvard has beaten everyone they've played. Maybe they should be ranked with Utah and the other D-IA teams, too?

Glad to see your jumping on the Crimson bandwagon, Pete.

Speaking of Harvard football, I saw a columnist state that the HU head coach was on the short list not too far after Ron Zook at Florida, and could possibly be a contender this time around.

Charleston Southern's head coach this year was a Harvard asst. last year and Brad Scott's son plays for Harvard.

    Ben,
I didn't vote this week for obvious reasons after not being able to get through because of election stuff earlier in the week.
