Your point might be valid, were it not for the fact that all 5 nominees for Best American Weblog at the 2004 Bloggies were politically left leaning.
And except for the fact that past 2 years the Bloggies have been rendered hopelessly irrelevant by all the childish bickering and widespread fraud and cheating associated with them.
Real webloggers don't take the Bloggies seriously any longer.

Kyle: the politics of Wizbang has nothing to do with College Football and, honestly, I don't particularly care if our voters are right-leaning or left-leaning.
Though this is not really the forum for it, if you have a complaint about the awards, you might want to try actually doing something besides making snide inferences of illegitimacy and actually address the awards themselves.

I do, however, care if our voters are "wide left" leaning or "wide right" leaning. Those "wide left"s and "wide right"s have cost me a pretty penny over the years. ;)
Listen, awards are nice because it means that some folks recognize what you're trying to do. They're not worth getting worked up over.

Personally, I prefer the Norm Chow favorite with two wide on the left side and three stacked right behind each other to the right...
Of course, it worked best when you could have Colbert and Smith blocking for Mike Williams.

Not so good news - seems there's been some questions regarding lower volume sites with huge vote totals. One entrant withdrew because of "cheating" (their words) for the site and is since back in the contest.
A lower volume blog is absolutely destroying everyone in our category as well, but --IMHO-- that's because it's a damn good blog.
Vote early, vote often, but PLEASE keep it clean, y'all.
