Site Updates in Progress
Just a quick site note - we're in the process of upgrading the system and comment support. So... things may be a little wonky today.
Please know that all of your comments are being received, even if they are not showing up just yet.
We'll post an update as soon as the hamster is back on the wheel.
UPDATE - Like Grandpa on Cialis, we're slowing getting it back up. Should be all clear shortly.
NOTE - We are implementing a registered user system, so you (and you alone!) will have control over your handle. If you have any questions or difficulties, email me at kevin -the at sign- fanblogs.com.
UPDATE - A couple things are still FUBAR, but we're going to be working on comments today to try to have registration and the "Remember Me" feature restored. All new posts have been delayed until comments are working, so those will likely be Monday AM.

Actually, Kev, a delayed posting of comments may be beneficial. Think about. You post an article or thread. Everyone who's interested reads it and submits their comments over the next 24 hours or so. Then, you post them all at once in order of their having been received. Now, watch the sparks fly as those who've commented, or for what ever reason withheld, read everyone else's posts and replies to those they choose. The point is, the 1st wave of comments are those of each individual, completely independent of anyone else's thoughts. It's after you've posted all these that you get the 2nd wave, which should consist of retorts, rebuttals, or simple replies. Just a thought.

Hurry! This is an open thread with no football mentioned. Let's turn it into a SEC thing before Kevin shuts the comments off. Okay, me first: The SEC is the best conference in all the land!!! Okay, now the rest of you...

For those that have been enduring this upgrade, I guess I should have used FUBAR instead of wonky!

VOLPIMP, what's going on bro? What are you thinking on Tenn/Cal? I'm a little shaky on this one, but I think Tenn will come away with the W. I heard Tenn lost their starting TE or either he was going to be out for a while or something. I got it Tenn-28 Cal-27. What do you think? Ya boy T-Mac!

TC (Post 12): You & I differ as follows:
Wake over BC - Wake starts off with a big win in Chestnut hill to demonstrate why they're not a 1 hit wonder.
Memphis over Ole MS - Too close to call, but if MS wins this one, watch out SEC.
GA over OK St - Too close to call; gotta take the Dawgs at home.
OR over Houston - Ducks at home, too much for Cougars.
TCU over Baylor - H-Frogs way too much for Bears at home or away.
WY over VA - This is where VA fans finally get fed up and get themselves a new H FB Coach.
OK over N TX - I know your pick was wishful thinking, but sorry; it ain't happening.
Here's a few more:
Troy over AR - Sounds crazy, but it could happen; Troy is not bad, and AR could be looking ahead.
OR St over Utah - Utes are tough! OR St is tougher, not to mention at home!!!
MO over IL - Again too close to call for 1st game of the season, especially if MO underestimates what should prove to be an improved IL squad.
UCF over NC St - UCF is hungry and wants to prove the Big East should have taken them over S FL.
Bowling Green over MN - I think MN gets caught nappin.
What's weird is CF starting off on such a stoic note. On 8/30, the best match-ups next to OR/Utah are Miami(OH)/Ball St, and UNLV/Utah St. The rest fall under miss-match or who-else-cares (other than the fans of the teams playing, of course). Well, as I've said in other threads, ya take the good with the bad. Enjoy one & all!!!

Youre right, I was just stirring up some stuff and my N Tex vs OU prediction was a joke or a jab whatever.
Some others are kinda wishful thinking upset predictions
Oregon vs Houston
Houston lost their QB Kolb and the game is at UO so ya the Ducks will probably win, but they wont by the 15 point spread
The TTech vs SMU is a tough one to call in my book the ponys could pull it off
The TCU vs Baylor here again both teams will have new QB's its a different season and the game is at Ft.Worth- the Frogs are favored by 21 points- ya right- The Bears could win and no way TCU wins by 21 purty safe bet.
The UVA vs Wyoming---Close Matchup
Cal vs Tenn----------Another Close one
CU vs Colo St---------Either Way
Ole Miss vs Memphis----Close Matchup
The UGA vs Ok State even though the game is at UGA who knows. Depends on who shows up
Is this the UGA that played CU early or the one that cameback against V Tech. Same for the Cowboys. Is this the Cowboys that were hammered by Texas or the ones that whuped Nebraska.
This matchup looks interesting
Same goes for Missu vs Illinois good matchup
Zac The Big Boys from BE really playing some nailbiters
WV vs W Mich
Louis vs Murry st
RU vs Buffalo
USF vs ELON Who is ELON ?
Kinda like UT vs Ark St
I was offered free tickets and turned them down would rather watch some other more interesting games on the Tube than a slaughter live
Sicem Bears beat the Frogs
N Mex vs UTEP ought to be a good oneZac said:

Tomcat: I don't know from nothing about ELON, except I think they're in the same conference as UCF. Yes, the 1st games for the B.E. right out of the box aren't all that impressive. WVU actually has the greatest challenge against W MI, and I still see it being one sided. Not that the Broncos won't get in their licks. They finished up 8-5 with a close loss to Cincy in the International Bowl. They return 16 starters. So, I suppose it could be interesting early on. I mean; who knows? In all honesty, I'm expecting a rout.
What surprises me is Buffalo. Here's a good size school in a good sized city, where some solidly competitive HS football is played. They're not far from PA or OH where more good HS football is played. You'd think they could bring in some of the better coaches and recruit well. Akron is another one. Of course, look at Cincy; they've always been relatively competitive, but used to find themselves in position of that journeyman fighter: the one chosen as a tune-up before the big bout. Suddenly, they're in a decent conference, and doing well. The point is, it's all in what a conference with do for its member schools, and what each school is willing to do to support their team. Heck, look at AL and all the lean years they've had while looking for the perfect fit for them at Head Coach. And, they still don't know that they've found him. This is going to be a very interesting year, despite starting out a little slow. T - 4 days, and counting....

I'm having problems with the remember personal info box, too. In post #11, it listed me as 'anonymous'. My own computer doesn't even recognize me anymore! Saturday afternoon, it wouldn't take any of my comments.
We better debug this thing before the games start or this could get ugly!

@ #41 -- Off the top of my head, at least one of them got way, way off course. Don't recall, but a good read through should clear any questions.
@ #42 -- F'n wrenches.
In the future, the registration should allow us to rate comments, promote folks to more senior levels, flag offensive comments, etc. It's all good, as soo as it starts working correctly! :)

Anybody got a score on LSU/MS State?
T-Mac doesn't foresee MS State running much at all so State will have to throw to win...or keep it respectable. State's QB Henig threw more int's last season than td's! This game could get ugly in a hurry! The professional opinion of T-Mac says that LSU will pull starters early to keep fresh for VA Tech. T-Mac thinks State will score, but not much. This LSU defense will be top-3 nationally...if not the best!
Everybody, throw out those scores!!!
T-Mac says, LSU-35 MS State-10
