1st and Five: Who Do You Love, Who Do You Hate?

An interesting article from Mark Schlabach yesterday from ESPN about the most hated teams in all of CFB. Now I'm not all about hating on anyone, although some teams are certainly more deserving of scorn than others. What I'm about is the Top Five list.

And because that coin has two sides, I want heads and tails--teams you love, and teams you hate. Actually, maybe that's too extreme. Most of you only love one team, so let's change that part to teams that you favor, root for part-time, or simply respect--any team that's not your primary one. And for hate, well, again, we don't drink the Hatorade here at fanblogs, so let's change it to teams that you merely dislike. And you don't have to be a total homer and populate your list with nothing but your team's biggest rivals. Try reaching out a bit...

AND YOU HAVE TO SCRIBBLE A FEW LINES ON WHY YOU LIKE OR DISLIKE THESE TEAMS. See, that's the essay portion you have to write to get full credit on this exercise. If you're not prepared to defend your picks with a sentence or two, go comment on a uniform thread...

For the WEA'ster:

LIKES:

1) Troy State--I always felt like they were a junior varsity Auburn, just down the road (I'm sure they'd be thrilled to hear that) And yes, I still call them Troy STATE. I'd still call Auburn API if that's what they were originally introduced to me as...

2) GA Tech--Because that was the school I was going to attend until I found out about their dearth of co-eds...

3) Nebraska--Any time a team runs the rock like these guys have through the years, I hold a special place in my heart for them...

4) Michigan--Still can't get that fight song out of my head...Or the 2nd baddest-ass uniforms ever...

5) Army--What can I say? 30-year Army brat. I always have to root for them to beat the swabbos...

DISLIKES:

1) Notre Dame--Sure, I'm envious they have their own TV network (for now) and get paid to not play in BCS games, but I really don't like how they've managed to duck regional powers Ohio State and Michigan over the decades...

2) Miami--Never liked their attitude and always wondered how a small private college came to be such a football powerhouse in such a short time. Always wondered how only one in fifty of their fans ever attended school there...

3) Alabama--Way too full of themselves, way too prone to drink the Crimson Kool-Aid. Most of their fans were born on third and thought they hit a triple...

4) Texas A&M-- Good school spirit, but way too fixated on that team in Austin. I think under Texas law, some of their hate for their rival may qualify as 'stalking' or at least being creepy...

5) Boise State--Johnny-come-latelys. Really irked me with that pep ralley before the Humanitarian Bowl a few years back when they played Boston College.

So how about you???
