Fanblogs Open Conference Championship Thread

Half of the six BCS conferences and two Mid-Major conferences have their conference title game this weekend. None can match the intensity of the SEC, which some believe should be a de-facto national championship game. Alas, with one of the top-three ranked teams in the country guaranteed to lose, which BCS-busting team might sneak into a possible title game?

Note to the Pac10, Big 10(11) and Big East: Another year has gone by while you grind into relative obscurity on the CFB landscape by still not having a CCG. Time to draft some additional teams and get with the program, lest you become increasingly irrelevant. A CCG for all BCS conferences IS the first step to a CFB playoff and you guys are lousing it up. The landscape now is such that the SEC champion is virtually a lock for the BCS CG. If you want to break this nascent trend, you better step on it.

Start your comment by picking the straight up winners in the CCGs:

SEC: Florida and Alabama:

ACC: Ga Tech and Clemson

Big 12: Texas and Nebraska

CUSA: Houston and East Carolina

MAC: Central Michigan and Ohio
