I'm not exactly sure what you're trying to say Pete, but I was saying that one of the guys that made that list went to Bama. Therefore, one shouldn't put a lot of stock in what he says. From what I can gather of your post (was that in Cajun or something?), you're an LSU fan. I was confirming that LSU was more worthy of being called a party school than Alabama. One last thing, I went to Auburn, moron!

Not to spit hares, but this is a list of party *schools*, not tailgate partiers. LSU led that (six) pack for a number of years but began an upward (downward?) trend when then-new Chancellor Mark Emmmmert got into this wild "academia" thing. Now we have a Rocket Administrator - former NASA head O'Keefe (who isn't, contrary to popular belief, exactly a Rocket *Scientist*) who may yet get the Baton Rouge campus back into the top five.
Emmmmmert's taken the Chancellor's position at his Alma Mater, Wazoo State. Don't expect to see WSU on the list anytime soon.

Been to Florida State and the tailgating was horrible. Beautiful place but...In the ACC - NC State and Clemson rule the tailgate competition! The Terps are there in numbers but they end up trashing (knee deep)their parking lot and the fans are soooo horrible (win or lose). Virginia Tech has the best fans and the best scenery! Too much wine and cheese at Baby Blue U and Vaginia. Just my opinion.

Princeton Review's annual list of party schools came out yesterday and LSU was #19. This is the publication (along with Playboy) that used to put LSU at or near the top every year for many years.
These are the results of a concerted effort by LSU over the last 5 or 6 years to change the "party school" image and be taken more seriously, and also the result of a crackdown on on-campus drinking and partying after a few very unfortunate drinking-related incidents.
As far as football tailgating goes, there's still no place better than Baton Rouge.

Any school can qualify for a top party school as long as their fans carry a World Famous Sippin' Seat. Don't know what I'm talking about??? Check it out at www.papabert.com. Binocular and cell phone flasks are small potatoes compared to this bad boy. It could quite possible be the best tailgating accessory ever invented. Pure genius for any serious football fan. Giddy up!

I would have to say that Tennessee should be included. You walk around campus on a Friday night before gameday or Saturday night after gameday and you will pass bars, clubs, and block parties all over the place. And awesome atmosphere for the hard core partier!

Okay. enough is enough. Sports Illustrated ranked Knoxville the best overall as did The Sporting News. I have to agree that a top ten anything without LSU is bogus. Cajuns just get down and dirty in Tiger Stadium. As for the rest just take your pick from the rest of the SEC. SEC leads nation in attendence, tailgating, teams, competition, parties, and just having the best time period on saturdays.

I don't care about all the football rankings, but how can you have a list of Top Party Schools without Indiana? Anyone curious should get here for Little 500 week and find out what a real party school looks like. And no place in the country rocks like Assembly Hall during basketball season.

I'm a garnet and gold bleeding Seminole, my son will be attending LSU next year and despite my love of everything Nole...the Tigers game day spirit is clearly superior, there are no divsion of loyalties in this state PURPLE and GOLD, and the tailgating scene and stadium frenzy was unrivaled. I've watched the Noles/Miami Noles/Gators...but the Tigers and the rabid fans are nothing like I've ever seen before.Welcome to Death Valley

If a campus goes in complete anarchy with people streaking and forming a block party 10 blocks wide like Kansas State did when the Wildcats beat the Sooners in the Big 12 championship in 2003. Poeple would know that KSU belongs in the top 10 party schools in the nation.

About what Andy G Says "How can you leave out East Carolina U? ECU is a big party schools come on guysss. G-Vegas etc., ECU should be on the list. Go Pirates".
Sorry to tell you this Andy but, hahahahahahah East Carolina is Def not a party college, never has been known as one and never will man. Sorry to put it to you like that. But, if your looking for a Real known nationwide party college that parties 24/7/365 and everyone knows about, its def Florida State man. We are known to party man, thats why you see us and our hot sexy girls on girls gone wild videos, because florida state was the one that started that, aswell as on spring break on mtv and all. The majority of the time, you see Florida State, Miami, and U of Florida chicks cause we are hardcore known party schools man. No one knows about ECU nor would care too, cause they are a small, rinky dink school that doesn't party man. Face it, ecu doesn't know how to party nor ever will atleast compared to us professional hardcore schools like FSU, Miami, Florida, ect.....So say all you want about g-vegas, ecu is nothing like a party school and never will be man. I live there and know it, they only have parties on the weekends, and during the week its dead. So ecu isn't worthy and never will be worthy of being a party school, and plus ecu isn't g-vegas or even close. Go to Florida State, U of Miami, Florida, etc.. now they are known as G-vegas..
So sorry there to burst your bubble man, but you need to know your facts before you post untrue crap about ecu and them being a party school. L8ters....nole said:

I think Clemson has to be a close top ten when we get night games and late afternoon games, but what sucks is we always get 12:00 games. We easily have over 120,000 people come to the ball games, because it is still packed outside the game even while the game is going on.

orangeblooded (#53):
I agree - Clemson is a tiny little village, but it is a tiny little village of pretty much just college students and just enough bars and tailgating for them to get packed and have a blast.
I mostly go to Tiger games with my family, and we go and come, so I haven't gotten to experience the parties but once or twice; I've seen enough while I was there to wish I got to stay longer for certain, though...

I am from Florida and have always been a huge Florida gator fan. And I will tell you all the swamp is really loud, I thought it was the loudest place ever until I walked into LSU tiger stadium, All I have to say is damn there loud there. Out of all the different stadiums and football games I have been to I have never seen anything like LSU. Very Very Very Roudy there.

I agree kyle, I have a friend that goes to lsu and I went to one of the games, and I dont know how these poeple did there poll but as much as I love Texas Longhorn Football, LSU tailgating is so much better than what we do at Texas. They should be Number one by far. I have never heard a louder stadium than LSU Tiger Stadium.
Go Longhorns!!!!

No one cares about these little rinky dink small colleges pretending and wanting to be like everyone else, so they tell everyone and spread rumors saying they are a party college and are known for one. Like for an example,ECU... yeah right, a party college... HAHAHAHA don't make me laugh... go on pretending to be a major party college and all when everyone knows YOUR NOT ONE NOR EVER WILL BE and thats a fact.. Now on to the party colleges that knows how to party and have a reputation nationwide as one...
Florida State, Florida, Miami, L.S.U., Texas, Arizona State, and Clemson... These are the top party colleges in the nation that know how to party hard and are known nationwide as one...Steve

Exactly, thats why Florida State isn't nor has been on the list for a while, and even if they were, they are professionals and would always be number 1, so therefore, no professionals alloweded, thats why they pick another college to be number 1, cause florida state, LSU and otheres are all retired as number1 pros.

After graduating from Oregon and going to grad school at Tennessee for a while, Southern schools party harder than most of the West Coast Schools (though ASU and UA party hard as well), without a doubt. The tailgate parties are massive. LSU does warrant being in the top 10 though. UCSD? They do have hot girls. As far as women, most of the schools from the nice sunny and warm part of the U.S. have good looking girls. I love how some dude (Steve) launched a verbal tirade against some poor guy trying to support his school ECU. You are right Steve, that ECU guy knows nothing. I mean, he should know not to mess with FSU and their roving band of drunk ass girls that make out with each other on camera because some idiot frat boy films them. That guy should also know that his rinky dink school cannot contend with the drinking superiority of all those professionals. They are so professional, they may not even pop their collar on their polo shirt tucked into their shorts. ECU should just cease to exist! Chill out Steve, it is all in good fun. Besides, it is not like FSU is truly known as an academic school, so I guess you can be a professional in something.

contrary to my name, I'm not here to shill for U of I. but rather, my old big 10 rival from the north. On a college football saturday, 2 places stand out: Knoxville and Madsion. In just partying, nowhere competes with Madison. the Ohio U guy talks about Court Street? blah. try Mifflin Street.

I really like how Kyle stated it. The swamp is one of the greatest football stadiums in the world. It is a great time. But once you come saturday night to death valley on the river you will never be the same. It's intoxicating just being there. LSU regesterday a small earthquake on a ricter scale accross the city one night during a game. The experience is something everybody should enjoy. True we can be brutal to the other teams but if you are nice to us, you can have a beer with me anytime! We play at the swamp this year. Floridas homecoming game. I look forward to getting druk with some cool swampers and watching a great game. Much love to all yall tailgaters and good sports whereever you may go to school. Geaux tigers!

ECU has been considered a Party school, since a major magazine first published a top ten ranking back in the 1980s.

I think it is quite humorous how all of you dispute over such trivial bragging rights as attending the biggest party school. Does that carry any weight on your future career resume to go along with the bachelors representing the four years spent in a intoxicated stupor? Im sure all your parents would love to know that is the reason why they are paying for your tuition in full. Now, I have little to support myself, however, if you are looking for a institution/organization that instills in our youth the drinking habbits prone to those who after the excuse of college are deemed 'alcoholics' (which it seems most of you are) i highly recomend the navy. A girl in every port... -no matter what age you are, you are likely legally of drinking age in whatever country you visit, and everything else is paid for (including schooling) so whatever you pocket is purely party/booze money? How can you beat being a drunken sailor? Also, it is pretty rediculous attacking the spirit of the ones who on an open forum as this go out on a limb to support their own alma matter - like putting down that guy from ECU.

PubClub needs to rethink their cheerleader list. SEC cheerleaders are a reason to not watch the game on a large screen HD TV. I saw parts of the Tennessee/Cal game and Auburn/Washington State game and the cheerleaders for these two SEC teams had so much cottage cheese on their asses I thought the SEC was being sponsored by the State of Wisconsin! The SEC needs to do one of the following: quit showing their ugly cheerleaders during the games, have them go on a diet, or quit broadcasting in HD.

I definitely think this list is not very accurate. LSU should be #1. Also putting Florida above Georgia? As the saying goes at the annual Worlds Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party in Jacksonville "Georgia may not always win the game but they always win the party".
