Meyer: I wear your T-Shirt

Not only will Urban Meyer probably drink your milkshake, he'll also wear your t-shirt, in a new contest to have UF students design this year's annual team spirit t-shirt.

Students! Create a design for the 2008 Student Football T-Shirts that expresses the following theme: "UF FOOTBALL".

About your design:
- May not exceed 5 colors
- Must be square, no smaller than 6" x 16" and no larger than 1' x 1'
- Files must in jpeg or eps format and be less than 10MB in size

In addition to having his or her design featured on the 2008 UF Student Ticket Holder T-shirt, the grand prize winner will also receive a cash award of $250 and a 2008 student season ticket. The first runner-up will receive a $125 cash prize and the second runner-up will take home $75.

Never underestimate the University of Florida when it comes to marketing.

40,000 students paying into a student activity fund and the can only cough up $250 to the winner?

Can't they like get to travel to the P.I. with Tebow or something?

Okay, I don't understand the milk shake scene from There Will Be Blood. Is it worth seeing? Is Ebert and Roper in the house? Anyone?

    WEA,The review.......
Writer-director Paul Thomas Anderson steps outside his contemporary world of dysfunctional Angelenos to explore a very different dysfunctional man -- an oil pioneer whose trailblazing spirit is equaled only by his murderous ambition. There Will Be Blood is Anderson's loose adaptation of the novel Oil! by Upton Sinclair, and it focuses its attentions on Daniel Plainview (Daniel Day-Lewis), a failed silver miner who happens upon black gold during a disastrous excavation that ends in a broken leg. Pulling himself up from the bowels of the earth, both literally and metaphorically, Plainview embarks on a systematic and steadfast approach to mastering the oil business. Using plain-spoken and straightforward language, and accompanied by his young son, H.W. (Dillon Freasier), Plainview launches a campaign to convince small-town property owners they should let him drill their land. Without him, they won't have the equipment to access the profit beneath their feet. He builds an empire this way -- and gradually becomes obsessed with the intrinsic value of power, growing increasingly irascible and paranoid in the process. Plainview meets his match in Eli Sunday (Paul Dano), a teenage preacher in the small California town of Little Boston, whose brother tipped Plainview off to the town's plentiful supply of untapped oil. To fully reap the benefits of the land, Plainview must suffer the opposing whims of this "prophet," whose legitimacy is questionable at best. And it's unclear either man is prepared to pay the humiliating price the other wants to exact. There Will Be Blood features an anachronistic percussive soundtrack by Radiohead's Jonny Greenwood, and it was shot in the same town where the James Dean epic Giant was filmed.

I've seen it twice, still not sure about the ending....

    Ron
That was a great review. You should think of doing it for a living, or at least a hobby.
The only problem is that you didn't answer the question for those of us who didn't see the movie, "What's up with the 'I drink your milkshake' line?

    GO DAWGS!!

OU Ron Whats there not to understand, the wimpering, pathetic, pitiful Eli got bashed in the head with a bowling pin.Plainveiw got to exact his revenge upon Eli who had humiliated Plainveiw in public earlier on.Eli was a fake who used his position to persuade Bandy not to let Plainveiw build his pipeline across Bandy's property without first being subjected to being publicly humiliated and slapped repeatedly by Eli.
The pipeline was built and Eli had sealed his fate. How dare this low lying snake come crawling to Plainveiw asking for money. So Plainveiw killed him end of Eli and end of story.
I guess I'd rate the show about 2.5 stars
good story, good direction, but the audience will find trouble identifying with the main character,
A well done film and D.D. Lewis did a good job of portraying a self centered, ambitious, phycophathic wildcatter.
little too dark for most audiences 2.5 to 3 stars
    Adios Tomcat

I believe UF actually has 50k+ in terms of student body.

Anyway, the thing that stuck out to me was "May not exceed 5 colors"

Blue and Orange is all you need. Don't go tie dye on us.

Are they selling the pieces of the broken trophy yet? There are some serious marketing gurus in G-ville.

Let's see here......"must be square, no smaller than 6" x 16" " Is 6 x 16 a square in Gainesville? This must have come from the same brilliant guys who put a crocodile on the cover of the media guide a couple of years ago.

#6: Tomcat, a word to the wise - you should warn people when you're putting a spoiler into a blog entry.

#12: OU-Ron, nothing breeds contempt quite as well as success.
