The Rifleman Rides Again

At the beginning of this season, I thought to myself "Self, what is Urban thinking?" but I decided to give him the benefit of the doubt.

"I can see where he's coming from. Apparently the kid is doing the right things. Paid his own way, got his grades. Maybe he's realized the potential he has and the large pile of money that could await him on Sundays."

Even then I was still sketchy on it and thought of writing up my feelings then. Soon after it was suggested that perhaps there had been some shenanigans involving his Community Service time sheet. Not to mention a weed possession during the time of which he was on probation which apparently was missed by the prosecutor.

"Well, maybe Meyer knows something we don't and just isn't saying, right?" I told myself this each time I saw him dressed over the course of the season and the few times he actually entered the game.

I'll never doubt my instincts again.

Ronnie "The Rifleman" Wilson has been at it again. His most recent arrest stems from an altercation over a female at a student housing complex in Gainesville. Two people total were assaulted with one being a female student who tried to get between Wilson and his first victim who was being chased into the parking lot by the 6-3/309 meaty lineman.

That this kid was even allowed back into school much less onto the football field is now an obvious and ridiculous oversight on the part of Meyer and the university.

There are times when you just can't save a kid from himself and Wilson is the posterchild. I've largely dimissed Meyer's oversight when it comes to disciplinary measures but in light of this latest incident I only see one direction Meyer can go with his discipline policy if he wants to keep any semblance of being taken seriously as a hard nose disciplinarian and a "One percent of one percent" elitist program builder.

Zero tolerance. One and done. Take no crap.

It's the only way to stop embarrassing the university.
