FSU linebacker arrested, suspended
All-American candidate Ernie Sims was arrested and charged with beating his girlfriend earlier this week. The Florida State starting linebacker has been suspended from the team in accordance with FSU's Code of Student Conduct.
Tallahassee Police report that Sims and his girlfriend were in an argument at a dorm parking lot when he picked her up & prevented her from leaving.
"He grabbed her, held onto her and wouldn't let her get away," Meadows said. "He picked her up and carried her back to his car. He did not hit or beat or slap her. She had a scrape or something. She wouldn't let us photograph her. He had some defensive wounds."
This misdemeanor charge hits the defense especially hard, as starting LB AJ Nicholson is already in hot water from his Taser episode last month.
UPDATE: At the, ahem, request of a reader, here's the story as told by the Tallahassee Democrat:
Florida State linebacker Ernie Sims was arrested early today on domestic battery and resisting arrest without violence charges, according to a Tallahassee police report.
During an argument with his 5-foot-2, 118-pound girlfriend, Sims - 6 feet and 225 pounds - "slammed her on the ground," then straddled her and repeatedly "shoved her back to the ground," the report said.
He also refused the commands of police who responded to the scene, outside Osceola Hall around 4 a.m.
Like we said, arrested & charged with beating up his girlfriend.

Straight from the girl's mouth. Who would yoou believe? The biased paper/Police or the person involved with the event? I wish that the AP reporter who gave all those incorrect facts would be fined or fired or made to go one on with with Big E. He for sure never spit lies again out of his mouth.

No a battered woman would never change her mind would she? It only takes one episode of "Cops" to see nearly every victim change the story once the cops get there. That's why we changed the laws Brad, to keep a victims confusion and instant fear of retaliation from allowing her to just say never mind cause now she loves him again. Here is the most probable scenario: He's an animal and proved it by beating up his girlfriend. But defend the Creminoles till the end,Bobby does!! How bout working to gain control of your Program rather than pointing fingers at the Press. Aren't they YOUR local hometown paper and even they hate you? Maybe it's time for some changes....

And word out of Tally PD (from the gf's own mouth) is that she didn't want to press charges and that E never laid a finger on her. They had an argument and some TPD goon took it out of context. Check the locals first buddy before posting some crap from ESPN.
Otherwise, love the site man...great info.
