Noles Go All-Black for BC

Bobby Bowden has finally confirmed what Seminole fans had long suspected, Florida State will sport all-black jerseys for their October 21st home game against Boston College. The jerseys will also honor FSU's long-time relationship with the Seminole Tribe of Florida.

No word on what the jerseys will look like, but one hopes that the Noles come out and do the haka in tribute to the real All-Blacks.

All black in honor of the passing of FSU's national title hopes.

Go Trojans! That was the best game I've ever been to.

    Is this game on TV?

Just curious if anyone else has more info...

A freind of mine said that the Oregon Ducks were Phil Knight's bitches (with their 48 different uniform combinations, black in particular) and that you would "never see a team like Florida State wear black uniforms."

    He was wrong apparently.

    2) I will totally buy one.

It may be a commercial ploy, it may be ridiculous and tacky, but it will definitely be bad-ass.

I also expect that this game will be picked up by somebody for TV, since it involves two of the ACC contenders.

PS Don't write this team off yet. 5 days after the biggest game of the season, with 2 days of practice they played the worst game they will play all year. Luckily they're going to get better and don't have any Monday night-Saturday night turnarounds left on the schedule. Injuries to defensive linemen are troubling, but the linebackers are the best in the country which is making up for an awful lot right now.

Hopefully they will not be as horrible as the uniforms that Nike made last year with one sleeve a different color than the rest of the uniform. Those were the ugliest uniforms (made Oregon's look great) in modern history and Nike got some major programs to wear them. Does anyone have a link with a picture of the all black FSU uniforms?

Of course it is a funeral for the end of the Bowden area. Until Jeff is gone the mighty FSU will suck.....Some say I am a fairwether fan, well that may be so. But I am not going to pay good money to watch a half-ass offense. The defence is great, you have to allow for the time they must be on the field because of an terrible offence.

OMG quit using 4 days of practice as an excuse.

Troy has been D-1 for 4 years, thats it. They were playing at Doak Campbell Stadium, allegedly one of the best, in front of about 78k fans (not alot but the crowd stayed in the game the whole time). Not to mention those guys have been playing football for 6 years, they should be okay to go play a Sun-Belt team after 4 days. And by the way, they only practiced 2 of those 4 days... who's fault is that?

Either start giving Troy some credit for playing a good game or quit making crappy excuses for FSU. Or do both.

Heck, Troy may be the second best team in Alabama right now the way Bama's playing.

    ^sarcasm^

As a diehard FSU fan I thought that was the sorriest performance on offense of any Top 25 team this season (that is still like 45 games!). 2 days of practice is NOT AN EXCUSE AT ALL!! It was TROY STATE! I will wait and see how Georgia Tech and Nebraska handle Troy in the coming weeks (Nebraska has them the week after @USC I believe) but I would predict a sound spanking for the Trojans (of Troy). If those two teams, rated far below FSU, don't struggle then this is yet another statement about a certain LAME DUCK "offensive coordinator". I realize all that will matter in a few weeks is a W but if we are going to struggle with troy then it is going to be one rough season.

In the last 5-6 years florida state has rarely dominated any team that wasn't 1AA, Duke or Wake Forest. That alone should say something about our offense. All key wins have been defensive, even when our defense is expected to underperform in the preseason it is generally better than expected while hyped offenses in half a decade have ALWAYS been a dissapointment. Whoever hung the FIRE JEFF banner across from the stadium last year should please rehang it and leave it up. There is a lot left to this season but getting beat by clemson, BC and Florida while having close games with Wake, Maryland, Virginia and NC state (possibly central michigan?!) is my prediction if we perform this dismally all year. I can't abide another Florida loss @doak either! I guess I will have to satisfy myself that at least 3 SEC giants will likely knockout the gators this season (LSU, Tennessee, Georgia, Auburn, Alabama) and possible losses to Vandy and steve spurrier. If they get a flawless season (God forbid!) they deserve a NC bid over any other team this year.

fsu went in to the troy game without "wathing" any tapes. they practiced twice and ran soft drills due to the game on monday. troy had trained specifically
to run an offense and defense off the fsu formations for months, this was their shot for this year. they lost due to depth and talent, but not heart. if fsu
had used other play calls they would show clemson to much in the following week. also booker is having a slow start, obviously, yet without a running game fsu is capable of beating miami wich has one of the best defense's in the country. WHAT IF FSU HAD A RUNNING GAME? the national title would be within view, and those black jerseys would just add to the hype.

    FSU:
Bowdens need to step down and bring back Mark Richter. FSU had success in the past because of Mark's fresh ideas. FSU does not have a running game or try to have a running game. Weatherford is another Chris Rix. FSU boosters are coward and need to step up and tell bowdens to leave!!! He is too old and his son has a 1/2 of a brain who can't call plays. FSU has talent on defense but they are all worn out due to the lack of offense. Booker is just a great disco dancer and does not realize that he is not the fastest player out there. Wake up noles, you guys are pathetic. Hey Bowden, maybe you should talk to OSU Trussell, he can help you old man. GO BLUE!!!

The 'Noles rank next-to-last nationally in rushing, but coach Bobby Bowden said he's not concerned. "You know what my answer is to that," Bowden said. "And it might be wrong, but it's, 'Who cares?' This whole thing about having to establish the run to win -- we've already proven two dadgum weeks in a row that ain't right."

Bam Bobby, your dead wrong. Two weeks against TROY!! and what is apparently a very crappy and now unranked Miami (no offense 'Canes we will join you soon very likely).

TROY!! Just thought I would reiterate that.

Please don't talk about ACC parity that is such mega BULLS**T the three undefeated teams in the SUCK ACC are VT, BC, and WAKE F**KING FOREST! And BC has like 10-12 points (totalish) over three opponents while VT and Wake haven’t even played a real opponent yet. The SEC looks real good this year, so far, hopefully they don't nuke so someone in an eastern conference can trash whatever PAC-10 garbage the media over hypes this year. Michigan and Ohio State look good but one will fall and likely both. Big 10 is too rough, the ACC just has a truck load of trash teams. Look at the recruiting of the midlevel teams Clemson, BC, NC State, Maryland compared to FSU and Miami. Can you say "squandered talent!" VT competes with these "football greats" and they don't recruit anywhere near the talent! I think FSU should join the Big East now or C-USA perhaps even be an eastern representative of the Pac-10?? Then we could rough up trash and get a (good) bowl game every year right?

My Predictions for the remainder of FSU's season:

Rice W (13-12) a late rice safety puts them in the lead in what was a tied game, with 8:00 on the clock FSU gets the ball at the Rice 46 and after 9 plays (2 4th down conversions) Cismesia kicks a 37 yard field goal for the win!

Bobby says: "Dagum Rice should be ranked the way they played today, whew that was a tough one!"

North Carolina State L (14-7): Chuck does his best to lose this game, throwing for 3 interceptions and 52 yards and running for 65 yards (all on one play) and 2 Fumbles but in the end Jeff Sucks more. FSU has -5 Rushing yards and 207 passing yards with a key fumble run back by NC State for a defensive 7. 2 other turnovers (1 fumble, one wetherford interception) luckily net the wolfpack no points! Chuck dances on the field like at ass (again) because his job is safe another year, FSU drops out of the top 25 and Chuck takes a NCAAF new record for being the first coach to do a cartwheel on the field.

Bobby Says: "Those boys just wanted it more than we do, They knew everything we were doing, it's like they have dagum ESP or something!"

Actually Bobby, Chuck may have kept a playbook or two, not that those are needed when we use the same two plays repeatedly.

Duke W (34-7): The bluedevils, as always, reek at football. At this point in the season 9 of the duke "offensive starters" are injured and the bluedevils are using several other highschool sized kids to fill in the gaps. Drew throws for a season record 300 yards this game! Lee comes in to arm-punt the ball a few times in the fourth but manages 0 completions.

Boston College L (28-24): In an amazing double overtime loss Boston College smacks down the Seminoles. 14 points scored the seminoles by the Defense tie the game at 14-14 after 60 minutes of regulation play. 3 penalties give FSU a touchdown in the first OT which Matt Ryan then answers bringing it to the second OT. A pathetic performance on offence ends in a Cismesia kick for three, which is then answered by BC as the plow right through the worn out nole defense.

Bobby says: "I just don't know what happened, we scored 0 offensive points in 60 minutes" I have an idea Bobby, blame it on the kids. The Fire Jeff crowd is out in force and Bobby calls them all cowards who do not know what they are talking about because they don't coach football. Apparently it takes a football coach to see that the abysmal offensive performance is actually not a coaching problem, it is never the constant variable (coaching) that gives consistent results, rather it is the bad luck of the Seminoles that ever changing variables (in the form of 3-5 star recruits as starters) are always sucky. It is one or the other Bobby.

Maryland W (28-21): 9 Defensive points aid in a Seminole victory and Bobby feels vindicated in his victory over the Terrapins, even though they don't even make it to a bowl game this season.

Bobby says: "We needed to get out there and execute and we did. Maybe these cowards will stop attacking Jeff now."

Virginia W (32-18) Al Groh hands the game to Bobby on a silver platter, just as he has done all season to teams such as Western Michigan. Cavaliers fumble 3 times for FSU scores of 7, 7 & 3 leaving FSU with 15 true offensive points (a Cismesia kick attempt is snapped poorly and run in for a lucky conversion).

Wake Forest L (24-20): The FSU offense has its best game all season, only that isn't saying much. The noles net 360 yards passing and 140 rushing net 2 touchdowns and two field goals as well as two field goal misses by Cismesia. The melt down begins!

Bobby Says: "I can't believe it those Demon Deacons played some dagum amazing football, we moved the ball but came up short on some key kicks"

Western Michigan L (35-28): "Injuries" are once again to blame and have the 1/3 of the starting lineup out of the game and Bobby pulls some others to rest up for the florida game. Never mind that FSU's 3rd stringers would make the Bronco's Bill Cubit salivate.

Bobby says: "I guess we just had too many teams on the schedule that had 1-10 seasons last year. We were bound to lose to one of them!"

Florida L (30-14): Florida reams the noles in the season closer! The game actually looks closer than it was with Florida dominating in all areas by at least a x2 margin. One unfortunate Florida fumble is run back for 7 defensive points and another touchdown is scored when Urban switches to Prevent-Defense with 6:00 left in the 4th.

Bobby is in tears as he apologizes once again for yet another pathetic performance.

No ACC championship game (GT squeaks by to take the championship from BC in a game NO ONE but me predicted would take place and represents the ACC against WVU in the Orange bowl). FSU represents the ACC in the either the Mienike Car Care bowl (against USF or Rutgers which I predict a loss for FSU) or the MPC computers bowl (of course against Boise state). FSU has the worst bowl turnout ever as Boise State underestimates FSU and is completely deceived by Jeff Bowdens plays (all three of them, he added one to his repertoire for Florida) and loses thus dooming FSU to another year of this disgusting performance. The bowl system could end up requiring 7 wins with these extended seasons though and maybe FSU doesn't even get a bowl.

FSU using alternate color jerseys to play BC at home in an attempt to celebrate something and/or hype themselves up for the game? Hmmm, if I remember correctly, last time a team did that was Notre Dame a couple years back, who was ranked #11 and was 7-0 at the time with a lot of talk about them finally contending for a national title again. Seems the jerseys worked a little TOO well for ND that day, as an uppity BC team beat the overconfident Irish 17-14. Here's hoping that either the same thing happens to Florida State, or that their offense just sucks badly enough that we shut 'em out in their own stadium. Poetic justice after our loss to them caused us to miss the ACC title game and get sent to freakin' Idaho for a bowl game, no?
Of course, even with FSU having as much trouble moving the ball as they are, if we play soft as fresh puppy crap in our secondary against them like we did against BYU yesterday, we're gonna be the ones getting torched. Also, even though I don't think it's quite fully deserved yet, foxsports.com's habit of calling Matt Ryan "Tom Brady-lite" makes me happy.

I was just google-ing around to see if the all blacks were really going down. Its been rumored around campus for a while as of now the plan is to "blackout doak" the whole student section will also being wearing black. I think as a follower of the noles since i was little it is kind of 'crazy' but they have sported everything else now with the debut of the all whites a couple years back. Also it will be something different and will be interesting to see a sea of black much like the heat pulled the 'white out' in the nba playoffs. I am for it though cause it will be a big game now with the loss to clemson where the d collapsed on the last drive hopefully we wont fall behind in this game and you never know what the mighty rice owls will have in store.
