Georgia and Colorado agree to home & home
Three cheers for teams using the 12 game schedule to better their competition than scheduling a DI-AA cupcake. Georgia has come to terms on a home & home agreement with Colorado. The Bulldogs will host CU in 2006, while Georgia will travel to Boulder in 2010.

I think your point of these schools "never" doing regional scheduling is a little misguided. For example: Clemson/S.Carolina, Florida/FSU, Georgia/GT, Auburn/GT, Bama/Southern Miss, Tennessee/UAB, TCU/Oklahoma, etc, etc, etc.
I don't so much care about getting more regional games. Give me more big-time showdowns like Texas-Ohio State or the classic Florida State/Notre Dame matchup of the 90s.

Clemson and UGA were supposedly talking before the Colorado deal closed, but who really ever knows who wants that series to be played more since both schools have always blamed the other for it not happening.
Playing a regional school doesn't help recruiting that much if it's an area you already recruit.

It only helps recruiting if you win, hence the hesitation on both sides, I suspect.
