World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party staying in Jacksonville
Try to feign shock as much as possible... the World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party staying in Jacksonville.
The school[s] agreed to a six-year deal Wednesday to keep the game in Jacksonville through 2016. The current contract was set to expire after the 2010 season."We have agreed to continue to play the Florida-Georgia game in Jacksonville for an additional six years after the current contract expires following the 2010 game," UF athletic director Jeremy Foley said in a statement. "We are excited about keeping the game in Jacksonville."
Despite an effort by Georgia boosters to move the game to Atlanta or rotate the game as a home-and-home or neutral-and-neutral, it turns out that the rather insightful ancient Taoist saying (that I absolutely fabricated) back in April was spot on: "Money talks. Bullshit walks."
Plain & simple, Jacksonville is the best deal that either team could get. Period. End of story.
