You will not FireKirkFerentz.com

The Iowa Hawkeyes have gone on offense to prevent their coaches from getting Ron Zook'd.

The Wizard of Odds reports that Iowa has purchased FireKirkFerentz.com, as well as FireLisaBluder.com, the women's basketball coach, and FireGaryBarta.com, the athletic director. All three websites now redirect to the main Iowa athletics website, HawkeyeSports.com.

But not to worry, ye bitter Hawkeye fans, FireKirkFerentz.net had it's domain registry expire in January and may be available. In the meantime, there's always www.iowafootballsucks.com and iowabasketballsucks.com - and both are ripe for the taking!

    Clever. Perhaps U of Illinois officials should start negotiating with that Florida guy over the purchase of his website. Illinois fans may want it for themselves in a few years.

    Perhaps we all should be so proactive. Perhaps I'll be a cyber-squatter and buy "firenicksaban.com". Bama fans may pay top dollar for it within 5 years! Just kidding!!! FireTommyTuberville.com is too long--I doubt anyone would go there for a variety of reasons--most of all because he's moving on to the other hand...

    The Bloom came off that Rose pretty quick, didnt it? Meaning the "Kirk Ferentz-is-a-Great-Coach" rose. Iowa has a top-quality team for about 3 a year stretch (like Wazzu, Maryland did a couple of years back), but fell-off a bit recently... He'll bounce back, they're not gonna find another Hayden Fry (USMC) at Iowa.

    Iowa's Basketball Coach, Steve Alford, just took the Coaching job at New Mexico; a lateral move for the most part (New Mexico has one of the best fan-support/attendances in the country year-in-year-out). Iowa fans should get a grip.

    These websites are like realestate. You buy cheap, sit on them and wait for Wal-Mart to build (or in this case for a coach to screw up). I purchased romomustgo.com. One more bad year by the Dallas QB will make me some $$.
