Big 12 "sleeper": Kansas??

If you believe Todd McShay of Scouts Inc, the Big XII North champion for 2007 will be Kansas. Eh? What's that? Come again?

Yep, McShay says Kansas.

Actually, Husker Mike - a fellow Big 12 Northerner - thinks the Jayhawks have a favorable schedule for a run at the Big XII North title, not to mention that they've given the Huskers fits in recent years:

First of all, they play Nebraska at home and Missouri at Arrowhead. They don't play Texas or Oklahoma either. Then when you consider how the last three Kansas-Nebraska games went (my blood pressure would rather that we didn't), it's not completely insane.

There's a "there's no place like home" joke in there somewhere, but I digress...

Hmmm... maybe Mike & Todd are on to something. The Jayhawks return 16 starters this year (6 offense, 8 defense, 2 specialists) on a team that ended 6-6, but could have easily been 10-2 if a few key moments had gone their way. A more experienced Jayhawk squad could have converted at least two of those, so let's consider them on the level of an 8-4 team.

There are some depth questions on defense, as I only see one senior in a two-deep slot, but they do have some experience in the starting positions, including All-Big 12 first teamer Aqib Talib.

The two most difficult games on the 2007 KU football schedule - Nebraska & Missouri - are basically home games, with a road slate that takes them to Boulder to play Colorado in mid-October (a tough game, but totally winnable). For tie-breaker consideration, the Jayhawks have Big XII South games with Baylor at home, and both Oklahoma State & Texas A&M on the road. (And those are the only places the words OKLAHOMA and TEXAS appear on the KU schedule!) So, yes, the schedule certainly looks favorable.

I don't expect Kansas to win the Big XII North, but -- if they do -- I guess we'll give props to Todd McShay.

The good Witch of the north would have to be in Mangino’s pocket (doubt if she would fit) to get by Nebraska and Mo, but they will not survive Okla St and A&M, but good luck anyway.
    Go Jayhawks

uh.....yea.....i don't think so. the jayhawks have never been anything to worry about on the grid-iron. yes, they've been a spoiler over the years with the Big 6 and Big 8, but in the BigXII? they haven't done anything....YET. The Pokes or the Aggies will take care of them but I'd like to see the Jayhawks hit a bowl game for the good of the conference.....money, money, money...GET MO'

Well, Kansas has given Nebraska fits of late. Doesn't mean it will continue, but there it is. Mangino has beaten Missouri three of the last four years. Again, doesn't mean it will continue, but... you certainly can't rule Kansas out, either.

    After poking around a little...

I think this is a solid "sleeper" pick...

Kansas returns the majority of a stout defense...

With the additional experience and maturity in the Defensive backfield, the god awful pass defense should improve greatly with a little help from the front seven...

They lost a lot of close games last year that the additional experience should help win with some good game management from the coaching staff...

Throw in the upset nature of the B-12 CCG...

A conference championship looks within reach of the Jayhawks if they can slip past Nebraska in the regular season...

No proven running backs. Two young, mistake prone, rotating quarterbacks. The absence of Nick Reid at linebacker. A coach flirting with demise.

Big XII North title? KU will have a hard enough time beating an up and coming K-State team, let alone Nebraska, A&M and Missouri.

    Stranger things have happened, though.

With such an easy schedule, Mangino and team should have no problem qualifying for and attending a bowl game; thus saving his job.

Yeah, not gonna happen. Nebraska stands alone on top of the Big 12 North. Callahan is the real deal and has brought revolutionary change to Lincoln. This is the year he finally has the right NFL size/style horses running the system (i.e.Keller, Purify, etc). Look for the Huskers to get their signature win of the new era over either USC or Texas (not unrealistic to see both happen this year).

I'm sorry but Kansas will NOT beat Kansas St. in Manhattan this year. Josh Freeman had 6 turnovers by himself in last years game in Lawrence and that is not going to happen this year. Josh will be better this year, and more importantly the O-Line protecting him will be better. Missouri also has to come into Manhattan this year. If any of you think that isn't a big deal.........MU hasn't beat Kansas St. in Manhattan since 1989, Bill Snyders 1st year as head coach. That's 18 Years ago for those of you who are counting. Since 1993 Kansas St. is 13&1 against Missouri outscoring them 461 to 219, & 12&2 against Kansas outscoring them 520 to 170. Besides last year we have absolutely DOMINATED the series between these two teams, and trust me when I say........Ron Prince understands that.

Last year was a rebuilding year for us in every sense of the word. New coaches, new systems, new players, etc. etc. To sum it up shortly.......This year is NOT. Prince and staff have been around the block now and have a stable foundation of players and systems going into this year. Even with all the shuffling & changes last year we led the Big XII in Sacks & Tackles for Loss, & led the Nation in Return Touchdowns, & Return Yard Average(27+ yards per return) If anything...........Kansas St. is the real dark horse from the Big XII North. We have the speed & returning experience to match up well with any team from the Big XII North.

"I was asked who should win the North, and I said it should be Mizzou or Nebraska. But I also said don’t be surprised if Kansas State shocks a lot of people."

Quote from Fox Sports Net play-by-play announcer Joel Meyers about the 2007 season.

Although those sentiments aren't mine, I couldn't have said it better myself.

hrposon I dont think Baylor will win the south, but they did beat Kansas.Lucky that the Jayhawks have the Bears at home this year, they might pull off the upset over BU after all anything can happen.
#10 Pacman frog your post is probably this best I've read so-far, but I will disagree with calling the Jayhawks schedule easy.
When looking at the 2007 schedule even the opener looks interesting Central Michigan a team that went 10-4 They have Toledo at home this year thank goodness, they might get some revenge after last years OT loss to the Rockets.
Then they go into Big XII play, in which they had 5 conference losses last year.
K St at Manhattan in state rivalry Wildcats at home good matchup

BU at home Bears the KU defense cannot stop the Bears spread attack even with a new QB coach Hays offense can put up some scores against one of the worst pass D. in Div I-A

CU at Boulder we will learn more about the Buffs after the Colo St and FSU games. The Buffs should be better and the game is at CU, still not a easy win could go either way

Texas A&M at Kyle feild Aggies
    nobody can hear anything

    Nebraska Huskers
    Ok State at Stillwater Cowboys
They should be firing on all cylinders, this one could get ugly

    Iowa St KU at home

Missu Tigers great matchup edge to Tigers
You never know strange things happen, like last years win over USF, but I beleive they will be lucky to even make it to a bowl this year. The defense will have to improve alot over last year they even gave up over 350 yds to UL Monroe
    Go Jayhawks
    Go Duke Blue Devils
    Go Temple Owls

I was very impressed with K-state's Josh Freeman in the Texas game, he stood tall and led his team to victory against a hard hitting D.

You folks who are picking Texas way down in the South need to get a reality check. Their quarterback is great and have had the top recruiting classes in about the last 3 or 4 years. They will win the Big 12 and play for the national championship as bad as I hate to see it. My sooners could finish 4th in the south this year.

OU Ron: I have been a sooner fan since 1955. I was in the fifth grade when Notre Dame stopped our 47 game winning streak, I watched it on TV and cried like a baby when that irish back went around right end into the end zone. Steve Owens (69 Heisman) is a personal friend of mine, he and I played sandlot football together in Miami Oklahoma many years ago. I suffered through the Texas winning streak of 8 straight against us in the 60's. I cheered on the great teams of Switzer. People who knew me called me Boomer because they knew I was a big sooner fan. You don't know what you're talking about when you call me a lame ass texas fan. I hope Oklahoma wins it all, but I am a realist and I have earned the right to state my opinion about the sooners. I lost many a nights sleep over that 71 Nebraska loss. How many years have you been a sooner fan? Did you use to watch Bud Wilkinson's program on TV when he was coach?

And since you’re a realist, you might want to check out your team again, the only position that is lacking experience is the QB, but then again that was the case last year and look what happened. Now if you are who you say you are, I apologize, if you’re not, I meant what I said in the first post. That’s my OPINION

#25 CANES ALUM The anwser is yes we fans do care,College football is regional to a certain extent, therefore your comments relating to the B-12 North, shows that your focus and bias oppionions are probably focused upon other leagues. I'll be the first to admit that the South Div of the B-12 is alot tougher than the North and every league including ACC has had some disappointments through the years.
There have been some shining moments for the B12 North in recent years like
    Missu over S Carolina
    Nebraska over Michigan
    Iowa St over Iowa
Even the dog from the north last year 2-10 Colo Buffs gave the UGA Dawgs all they could handle last year. Kinda reminded me of the C-USA Houston Cougars game against Miami.
    In 2007
    Kansas beat South Florida----B-East
    K State beat Marshal--------C-USA
    Missouri beat Miss---------SEC
    K State beat FAU---------Sunbelt
    Missu beat N Mex--------Mt West
    Neb beat Troy-----------Sunbelt
    Neb beat La Tech--------WAC
    Iowa st beat Toledo-------Mac
    Iowa St beat UNLV-------Mt West
    Kansas beat UL Monroe-----Sunbelt
When you look at the teams from B-12 north that played in Bowls last year, they lost them against some top 25 opponents and a couple were real close
    Oregon St 39-38 Missouri
    Auburn 17-14 Nebraska
    Rutgers 37-10 K State

Boomer...I am just as confused as OU Ron! I have been a Sooner Fan since 1984. The first OU game I saw was that 28-16 defeat to Miami that year. Yes I still have the memory of Michael Irvin doing that stupid dance in the endzone. I always give the Sooners a chance. texas has had a top 5 recruiting class I believe the last 7 years. Colt McCoy did not look so GRRRRREAT against Ohio State, Kansas State, and Texas A&M. texas will not schedule games against schools with good defenses! Check their future schedules! The next 4 years they will be undefeated before they play OU. Even Baylor & Oklahoma State have scheduled better non-conference games than texas. I personally don't and won't cheer for texas. Fact, texas is always ranked not only in football but basketball high and always finish out of the top 10 except the year they won the National Title*. I will say it now, loud and clear: texas is OVERRATED! Not only will Oklahoma beat them, they will have 3 conference losses this year. It is amazing how most college football fans/announcers think college football can't survive if Notre Dame, USC, texas, or one of the big 3 Florida's schools isn't on "TOP"! Well I am here to tell ya' it CAN! texas is all HYPE! You has a MAN & FAN can cheer for whomever but I would look at the whole picture before I stand in awe of ut! Just think....would an Auburn fan praise Alabama?, a Michigan fan, Ohio State?, a UCLA fan, USC?, a Florida fan, Florida State?, or Penn State fan, Pitt! I don't think so!

Tell him my brother's name is Sam and his sister's is Marie. My niece saw him and Barbara at a resturant in Norman a couple of months back and she told him who she was and he asked how Mike and Sam were doing. Thanks for the apology.

In the words of an infamous guinzo, "Not so fast, my friend." Absent from the Jay Hawks' schedule are OK & TX. Well, guess what? They didn't play them last year either, and only managed a 6-6 record. Sure, they won at home against perennial power NW St. (Even if it had been Big-10's NW, the outcome might have been similar.) Then, they narrowly escaped at home against LA Monroe. They lost a heart breaker at Toledo, one of the better MAC squads. They did beat S FL, who did beat (damn it all) WVU, and they did beat KS St, who beat TX. But, they lost to Baylor. True, they lost heart breakers to NE, OK St, & TX A&M, but 2 of those games were at home. They managed only 1 win away: at IA St. They couldn't get over the hump at MO.

Now, this year's schedule does look favorable early on. KS may well be 5-1, by the time they visit CO, but they'll likely be 5-3 by the time they host NE. Even if they manage to beat the Huskers, they would do well to go 1-2 the rest of the way. They haven't decided on either of 2 inconsistent QB's; they don't have enough break-away receivers; their O-Line was riddled by graduation; the defense is solid against the run, but can't mount a pass rush, and everybody knows to throw short passes or away from Talib. It's hard to build up a lot of confidence in them despite their schedule.

Now, do I wish them well? Absolutely! Would I like to see them play in a bowl? That would be great. Are they capable of doing it? As some of you have already said, anything can happen. Can a year make that much difference? You betcha! Will they win the Big 12 North? Not on your life. Sorry J-Hawks, the best I see for you is another 6-6, possibly 7-5. But, please, don't take my word for it.

Oh, almost forgot, the following is how I see the Big 12 shaping up:

South: Texas, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Baylor

North: Missouri, Nebraska, Colorado, Kansas State, Kansas, Iowa State

    Champ: TX

College football is entertainment. I will tell you or anyone else, I DO NOT HATE texas FANS! I realize texas has talent BUT they are overrated in football & basketball. SO......CANES ALUM.......now that you've checked the link, tell me why the North has been so competitive with the South if they suck as bad as you think they do?

Don't worry, I won't hold my breath waiting for a VALID response from you on that one because if you have one, I'm sure it will suck.

I'll give it to you that 2004 and 2005 were obvious down years in the North, but last year Nebraska was VERY close to beating Oklahoma, and I would bet you money the Big XII Championship this year will be VERY close.

I am leery of Miami we do not have a good record against them, if memory serves me correctly switzer's teams just beat them once and that was a squeaker and Miami was not highly regarded at the time. But my memory may have failed me. Have a good one. PS I at first thought it was not too bright to schedule Miami so early but we might as well see what we've got. The Horns have got the QB's, RB's and WR's on offense and some great LB's on defense. New secondary and O line and we lost two outstanding DE's.There will be some young fast guys now.

If Oklahoma played the same opponents as texas did the last 9 years, OU would look impressive too, fact! We will see how good TCU looks this year after they lost part of that defense to graduation. You talk so bad about OU but look at ut. Fact, ut football & basketball players has had the LOWEST graduation rate since the Big 12 started. Only Baylor & Colorado is in front of Oklahoma, fact! ut has had their football players getting arrested the most since the Big 12 started, fact! I don't know you as a person but when it comes to ut you are bias, fact. You fell to see the bad in ut's football program! OU is the only Big 12 school in football that has not schedule a Division 1-AA school since the Big 12 started, fact! Tomcat I do not dislike you at all. I'm just saying you don't want to see that ut is overrated. They should have been ranked #1 last year pre-season because they won the National Title*. But I tell you when December rolls around YOU along with the rest of the nation will see they did not deserve to be a top 5 team. Yes they will look EXCELLENT until after they play and get defeated by OU, FACT!

    Jayhawks won't win North (Nebraska).
BOOMER.... what? fourth...? I believe you know Steve Owens but OU won't get fourth. Boomer does AP come to mind when you say fourth? what about Demarco Murray?...Our O line? WIDE RECEIVERS? Defensive backs? Bob Stoops? the only people getting forth is texas in Big XII South.

Good post Lennie. Tomcat it must be pretty easy to achieve those numbers playing 1-AA schools.I would stop talking smack Tomcat before you wake up and half your team is arrested. You say TCU has a good rushing defense, must not be hard in the Mountain West. UNLV,UTAH,WYOMING?

    Hey Lennie & soonerfanantic28
To the best of my knowledge UT has only played one Div-1AA opponent, that was during the 06 season SHSU was scheduled because of the change to a 12 game reg season and no other opponent could have been scheduled at that time.
You said UT doesnt look good against 98% of their weak opponents-Do What?
OU looked brilliant in their outstanding victory over A&M- ya right, I watched three of yalls games last year.UT yall got beat with a healthy Peterson and McCoy was the Horns QB. I watched the OU vs A&M game wow somebody needs to get coach Fran a calculator, a stop watch and a set of balls. The Sooners got the W at college station last year, this year I dunno. The A&M running game will be hard to stop even in Norman.
I watched yalls bowl game against Bois St that was one heck of a game and alot of fun to watch.
Right now all teams including N Texas and Tulsa have 0 wins.Is UT overated? perhaps is OU overated? most definetly.
What happened the last time TCU played OU.
TCU won- TCU is 4-0 vs B12 opponents including TTech & OU.
Guys that must be some strong stuff yall are smoking, because OU & UT are both in the same division facing the same opponents in conference play. When looking at the OCC schedules and bowl games OU played UO----UT played OSU
    Bowls
    OU vs Pac-10
    OU vs Pac-10
    OU vs WAC
    OU 1-2
    UT vs B-10
    UT vs Pac-10
    UT vs B-10
    UT 3-0

Tomcat...Do you remember 2005 season when Texas Tech destroyed TCU 70 - 35? Did ut look brillant in the Alamo Bowl against a .500 Iowa Hawkeyes team? ut claim they could not schedule a GOOD opponent but I read that the Miami Hurricanes wanted to play ut BUT ut claimed they did not "feel safe" playing at the Orange Bowl. They picked SHSU because it was a sure WIN! I actually printed the article and show one of my former co-workers who played tight/defensive end for ut during the 76-80 seasons. ut got HUMBLED at home against Texas A&M I recall. OU went to College Station and WON! I come direct and correct. Let's stick to the original question asked. I think Kansas State will be "the sleeper" in the North not Kansas! Oklahoma State will be "the sleeper" in the South! You have your opinion about OU & ut and I have my views and opinion about OU & ut! OU might be overrated but they have more National Titles & Conference Titles in FOOTBALL than ut, FFFACT! Yes ut has beaten OU with 18 more wins. When OU beat...I mean owned ut for 5 years in a row I believed ut was favorite in all 5. ut has won the last 2 when ou has been down...FFFACT! OU has scheduled Notre Dame, Tennesse, Florida State, Miami, and Washington on their future schedules. ut best opponent in the next 5 years is UCLA and maybe TCU, FFFACT! Me personally I don't want to see OU playing the Tulsa, North Texas, and Utah State. I want them to play GREAT TEAMS!

Hey Lennie Back on topic 12 north Missu or Neb probably even Baylor beat CU, KU and KSU and everybody on here is always ragging on the Bears that went 3-0 against the North.
Lennie I stand corrected on the TCU record I was trying to recall from memory, in 06 they beat TTech and BU. In 2005 OU lost to both TCU and TTech. In 2004 TTech beat TCU and Neb.
UT and OU OCC the last 3 yrs
    UT OU
    N Tex UAB
    OSU Wash
    Rice UO
    SHSU Mid Tenn
    Iowa Boise St
    UL Laf TCU
    OSU Tulsa
    Rice UCLA
    USC UO
    N Tex Bowlin G

Lennie When it comes to future schedules, you never know some teams fall off a bit and others rise up. Teams like ND, FSU and UM are quality opponents and all three should be better.
I checked on UT's future schedule UCF,UTEP,Arkansas and UCLA all have home & home series scheduled.UT usually plays an old SWC opponent like UH or Rice, kinda glad its TCU this year. Hookem

Tomcat...you and I can agree on one thing finally. We don''t know! I hate these pre-season rankings cause hype is all it is. If Bobby stays at FSU, I think they will decline. If Phillip stays on at Tennesse? Notre Dame is always going to be overrated! I hope they will decline after what they did to Tyrone! That is why they play the games! My opinon......wait till all games have been played then vote! But the answer to this blog...Kansas will eventually be a quality football program BUT not this year. I see Kansas State, Oklahoma State, Baylor, & Colorado improving the next several years in the Big 12.

North-Only 2 teams in the north this year. No "sleepers" Nebraska wins North.

South- TX is a joke. They lose to TCU, TX A&M, OU, and 1 additional "upset". OU wins south, then on to a BCS bowl game.

There is no sleeper in the North! There are only 2 teams this year, and Nebraske wins.

The "Sleeper" in the South may be Aggies or OKlahoma state. OU will win the big 12.

Texas could almost be considered a sleeper team. With their easy schedule they will probably have a winning season. They will lose 4 games. The losses are to OU, A&M, TCU, and either Oklahoma state or t-tech.

BEAT DOWN, BEAT DOWN! They will, in my opinon, lose 3 conference games Oklahoma State?, Kansas State?, Texas A&M, or Nebraska. Texas Tech...no run offense and no defense...no win.

44 Lennie For once I guess we are in agreement.
Miami coming off a 6 loss season and an outstanding 1 point victory over Nev, just aint what they used to be, they ought to be better this year, however we all know that some first year coaches tend to struggle a bit. They should give yall a good game, their defense is in the top ten and yall are breaking in a new QB. The Sooners have them at home, so I'll give the Sooners the edge.
FSU also had some disappointments and I saw the FSU vs UF game, they really did purty good against the #1 team. They had an outstanding bowl win and Bobby is one of the all time greats.
ND well 9 bowl loses-Nuff said and by the time yall play them who knows. They did beat G Tech and Penn St, so still a good opponent.

You still didn't answer my question how you think TCU has a GREAT rush defense yes it's good but not great when playing mountain west teams.

The Mt West is purty good, we will see some great matchups this year
    TCU vs UT
    Utah vs Louis
    BYU vs Arz
They can compete with just about anybody and the Mt West is tougher than the WAC---Bois St

OU sallie by you showing UT losing 4 games proves you need to get back to work 'cause you have no idea what your talkin' about. I'm lookin' forward to the game this year both teams could win it. Tomcat you rock on brother. It's amazing how revved up OU fans can get. Some know what they'er talkin' about..some need to spend a season watching and learning. The same teams that will challenge UT will challenge OU. You'd think the way you guys talk that OU was USC. Both teams will go into that game undefeated. Both teams have glaring weaknesses. I think the biggest difficulty will be the freshmen QB Bradford.Colt McCoy's don't come along everyday and he had his ups and downs but college football freshmen of the year I think speaks enough. Bradford will not do the same. Thankfully OU has a stout runnig game or you guys would really be screwed.

Fact UT owns OU and always will
Looking for a three-peat this year UT wins
I guess they roll their joints fatter in Norman than Stillwater? I dont know
#57 Sallie drop back and punt
#56 How did OU look against UT? 28-10 nuff said and we beat Iowa yall lost to Oregon
#55 OU Ron ya you beat a team Neb that Texas already beat and UT also beat OU
I saw the OU vs A&M game last year and I beleive the only reason that Fran is still at A&M is his huge upset victory in Austin.
A&M totally dominated both OU and Neb and it was poor coaching desisions that gave the game to the Sooners.Yall didnt beat the Aggies-their coach gave it to yall. This year OU will probably lose a few Miami,Tulsa,Texas, A&M, TTech and Ok St . Yall could possibly make it to a bowl against a WAC team and finish 6-7
Does that sound silly? kinda like yalls post
    Hookem-Horns
Go Bobby keep on trucking it aint nothing but hatred against UT there from Oklahoma they cant help it.Worse than Aggies and almost as bad as ND fans-except they must have some good herb

Man this is fun stuff. It feels like if people where face to face they'd be exchanging blows. I agree Tomcat I think all the hatred stems from UT being a very popular team. They always bring up Colt's performance against Ohio St. He was a freshman in his second game!Playing the number one team in the nation!A team that went on to get it's butt whipped in the NC, but went no less. That's a tall order for ANY freshman QB I don't care who you are. Now how good Bradford will be remains to be seen. What I'm saying is that it is not very often a freshman QB comes along and has the success he did. Diss him all you want he got college football freshman of the year FACT! He did have some rough games, he was a freshman. What I'm saying is that it is unlikely that he would have as much success..unlikely but not impossible. What was this thread about? Now I am a diehard UT fan but I am also a fan of the game.

The Big 12 South will come down to UT and ou. And if Bradford comes out and haves the season Colt did last year well then I like my crow with mashed taters and gravy, and I'll say ou would be a team to watch. Those of you who think TT will finish ahead of UT just shows how short sided you are and how it's more about insults than obectivety. New receivers, very young defense and offensive line. It will be a long season in Lubbock. TT ahead of UT...you have got to be kidding me. Notice during all this I havn't thrown out one personal insult I'll leave that to ou fans...I bet when the AP poll came out and it had Texas ahead of ou that some of you literally nearly imploded or exploded. But you can't put to much weight in what writers think. But the coaches poll had the same results. Look forward to talking more.

Bobby, that’s not what you said in your post # 54, you said Bradford will not duplicate McCoy’s performance, now you’re saying how good Bradford will be remains to be seen, I’ll agree with that. The only place Texas is (as you say) a very popular team is in a few places in the state of Texas and in your own mind. Notice that I have not thrown out any personal insults to you, don’t tell people to shut up or get screwed and you probably won’t get insulted. If you feel like you are personally insulted by someone raggin on Texas, you probably should move to deserted Island.

OU-Ron I really don't think Bradford will do what Colt did. You can't say never and I guess I should've gone over my paragraph before posting it. I've recently read a news article on a sports website can't reacall if it was ESPN or what but UT was number one in sales merchandise. Not that that means anything on the football field but a little info. to back my statement up. And as for insults so far I have been called a homo, dumb as a stump etc. not all on this thread. Telling someone to shut up is not personal it's just good fun debate to me. And I didn't tell anyone to get screwed I said that if ou didn't have a running game they ou, Bradford would be because then defenses could then just key in on the rookie QB you follow. had nothing to do with you. I don't take anything personally. Especially not when people are talking about my beloved Horns. getting upset over what some one said in a web blog would be a complete waste of time.
