Ron Prince to Step Down at Kansas State

According to the Kansas City Star, HC Ron Prince will be stepping down from the helm of the Wildcats at the end of this season, joining the ever-increasing list of coaches who have been outright fired or pointed toward the door this season. The Wildcats have struggled this year, dropping five games, including three in a row. In his two and a half season tenure in Manhatten so far, Prince has managed to beat Texas twice, although he's also lost three straight to arch-rival Kansas, including last week's game to Mangino and company.

Many may wonder why the rookie HC and former Virginia OC wasn't given much of a chance to prove himself in the increasingly competitive Big 12. Not every team in the conference can look like those in the south division this year. Regardless, his position becomes the first open in the Big 12. KSU is now an official contestant in the coaching sweepstakes, otherwise known as the Lane Kiffin Derby...

And I think it goes without saying that Spurrier and Davis ARE NOT probably interested in this job...
