LSU concerned about Tiger Dens

With just four plus months remaining before the home opener, LSU officials are concerned that the new upper deck, club seating, and Tiger Dens will not be ready in time. Associate AD Herb Vincent says that's a big problem, because the new seating is already sold out.

"...one of the scenarios we're facing is that part of the upper deck could be closed off. But it's too early to know that."

Vincent said LSU doesn't have any contingencies now for how to cope with an incomplete west upper deck.

Of course, you wouldn't know there was any cause for alarm in reading AD Skip Bertman's March 31st communique (pdf):

We are also replacing the sideline seats on the east side of Tiger Stadium. The new chairs will provide more comfort than those old gold plastic seats, and they will have flipup seats to provide easier movement for fans within the rows. Because of the renovation project on the west side, we cannot replace the west sideline seats this year, but we plan to have those in place by the fall of 2006.

And work continues on the renovation of the west side of Tiger Stadium, the new Football Operations Center at the Charles McClendon Practice Complex and Mike the Tiger’s new habitat, with completion for all three of those projects on track for this fall.
