LSU and Tulane agree to Series

LSUSports.net is reporting that LSU and Tulane have agreed to a 10 year home-and-home series starting in 2006. Tulane is giving LSU a nice chunk of the superdome when LSU visits, which gives the Tigers a chance to both revive an old series which went on pretty much constantly until 1994 and still pull some revenue in the years that they play at Tulane.

"This agreement gives us an annual non-conference game with great historical significance, around which we can plan the rest of our scheduling for the next decade," said LSU athletics director Skip Bertman. "It also gives us the opportunity to take the Tigers to our fans in New Orleans every other year." The negotiations for the LSU-Tulane series began in January. Now, with the recent decision of the NCAA to add a 12th game to the regular season schedule each year beginning in 2006, LSU will have three non-conference games to schedule on a yearly basis in addition to Tulane.

    I'm not all that wild about whizzin' away our new 12th game on the greenie weenies, but as long as we're at it, let's work on adding a few more 62-0s to the string.

    Jessi, that was what you had out of SABIN!!! I hope that MILES is better, which I am not sure of, I wanted SPURRIER, but you need a good AD to do that!     what backed into a gold mine. you act like LSU was great before he got there. he was on his way to bringing michigan state to the top, then he came there and reminded LSU fans of their great tradition. you seem bitter that he left to go to the NFL. im just saying that Sabin brought you guys out of the gutter, im not sure Urban Meyer is ready for the SEC.
