Perrilloux held out until latest police investigation is resolved
LSU head coach Les Miles confirmed that backup QB Ryan Perrilloux will not practice with the team and will probably be held out of this games until the most recent accusations against him are resolved.
"We will prepare to play without these guys," he said.
During his press conference, Miles was careful to explain that Perrilloux and LB Derrick Odom had not been suspended from the team at this time.
Perrilloux is under investigation for his involvement in a fight with bouncers after the QB was asked to leave following "Baton Rouge's Largest Halloween Costume Party" at The Varsity. Perrilloux contends that the fight began when bouncers -- who were white -- picked on him because he was black and put his pregnant girlfriend in a bear hug.
The bouncers claim Perrilloux flatly refused to leave and became belligerent, turning to fisticuffs when the bouncers forced him physically through the back exit, according to the police report. Perrilloux told officers at the scene the bouncers had picked on him because of his race and put his pregnant girlfriend in a "bear hug," prompting his pugnacity, the report said.Odom, too, told police his pregnant girlfriend had been accosted by the bouncers, who were white.
Following the fight, Perrilloux told his attorney that he was "beat up" at the bar.
While the original police report makes no mention of firearms, the LSU Reveille reports that additional police reports filed on the incident mention that at least one individual had a gun at the scene. Perrilloux's attorney says that the QB did not have a gun and has passed a lie detector test.
"My client passes a polygraph test concerning the gun issue," Fisher said. "He was asked whether he pointed a gun at anybody at the Varsity, outside the Varsity or near the Varsity and said no to each question."
For his part, Odom posted several status message updates on his Facebook page that may refer to the fight.
"Derrick is sayin the fight dont end til u die BITCH," Odom apparently wrote at 8:02 a.m.Odom updated his page just minutes later with another message.
"Derrick is trippin on how these fools try to run up on u behind ya back when they know they cant fuck wit u 1 on 1 but he got something that will shut all that shit down," he wrote at 8:05 a.m. Saturday.
Perrilloux has had his fair share of run-ins with the law, including a federal counterfeiting investigation and an incident at a Baton Rouge casino earlier this year.
Odom, a red-shirt freshman from Jackson, Miss., was arrested twice in recent months on misdemeanor charges - one for damaging an automobile of a woman and the other for damaging an automobile and the door of a man and threatening the man and his father.
No arrests have been made at this time and no charges have been filed by the Baton Rouge Police Department.
The owner of the bar has said that he will not press charges against the players. Perrilloux's attorney advised him not to press chargesas well.
UPDATE
Perrilloux has been cleared by the DA and will travel with the team for the Bama game. Derrick Odom was charged with misdemeanor damage to property for smashing a car window after the fight.
UPDATE
Perrilloux will not make the trip to the Alabama game, according to Les Miles. In other news, Derrick Odom is no longer a member of the LSU football team.

Someone needs to grab Ryan's @ss and run him down to take a look at Ramsey Dardar...in prison for 7 counts of burglary for 30 years...
Then, they need to get him a bus ticket to Isleworth, and have him take a look at Shaq's house...
Have him spend the day with Ramsey, who was one of the most dominant defensive lineman to ever play for our school, and also a standout in the NFL as well. Watch him wear his prison issue denim and white T-Shirt...
Then have him spend the VERY next day with Shaq...
Then, give him a choice...
The reports we've gotten on our site indicate that everyone from former teacher's to those who have spent time with him have said that Ryan's talent distorts his view of his own reality. Muddying his view of what his future holds for him. He's unaware that he's hurtling towards a lifetime of broken dreams, and a future of reminiscing on unfulfilled hopes.
Obviously, no one has gotten through to this kid. Whatever chance his brother had is gone, as he was the idiot who involved him in the counterfeiting scheme...and obviously, no one on campus has gotten ahold of him, either.
But, we need him to get into some sort've LSU Athletics Scared Straight program...or he needs to get his @ss gone...
He's a detriment to the University at this point...talent be d@mned...

TE.....i am glad you take this kind of stance on these incidents....most fans try to "perry mason" up and defend actions of athletic depts. that allow players to stay....as much as i love the university of florida i can't stand the fact that players are continually allowed to screw up and a slap on the wrist is all they get.....
if a player screws up once...it could be considered an isolated incident, but after three of four run ins with the law should get you kicked off a team....it isn't much fun taking stabs at opposing teams when you beat them.....then to find out your university has fielded a bunch of felons.....the long list of gator infractions since the champ. game is ridiculous.....
let's just hope that ryans infractions don't conclude with getting lsu in trouble......
bama fans can play this weekends game off as not important as the auburn game...but you, I, and everyone else knows differently.....this is huge for both teams.....
for bama - to see if it can hang with the big boys of the sec west...
for lsu - to keep title hopes alive and stick it to saban at the same time.....
good luck this weekend...
lsu is keeping the sec in the title hunt.....
go gators...and hokies

TE.....good point...why don't universities put the incoming freshmen on a bus and send them to the state pen. for a couple of days to show them if you break the law this is where you will be...not on the playing field....during the summer break so it doesn't interfere with school activities...
there is no reason why they can't do this...and i am sure that if parents were asked about this type of program..i am betting that a good portion of parents would allow this.....to make sure their children stay on the right path.....

Odum is quite the scribe. Witness: "Derrick is sayin the fight dont end til u die BITCH," TRANSLATION: "It is entirely possible that any altercation may result in the expiration of the perpetrator, young lady."
"Derrick is trippin on how these fools try to run up on u behind ya back when they know they cant fuck wit u 1 on 1 but he got something that will shut all that shit down," TRANSLATION: "I find it incredible that someone lacks the manhood to face me to fight, instead resulting in launching attacks from my flanks where I am unable to see it coming. I am prepared nevertheless."
I wonder what Derrick's major is. I think we can rule out English Lit...
If I was Miles, I'd suspend him just for the grammar...
And don't ask me if I speak jive. I had to go online to get it translated.

war eagle...good point....here on fanblogs we only talk about football players in trouble...we hardly ever hear of athletes from other sports that get into trouble.....
i would put it on all incoming athletes...i know it is alot of student athletes....but damn, how much money does a university shell out for athletes to go to school and for them to end up in jail...there would have to be some kind of feasability study done on it....i am just sick and tired of stupid student athletes....get their eduction handed to them...with some of them having the nfl in their sights..and then turn around and do something stupid.....it just gets old...

At some point, gatorstud, we have to remind ourselves that these kids are supposed to be getting a college education. Sure, some can't hack it. Maybe the NFL will get it's own farm system one day, instead of having the colleges as their de facto one.
I'd still be watching college football even if they were using sub-par real student athletes, like the Ivies and the service academies, and other private schools. Hell, maybe if it had been that way 20 years ago, I could've played.

Quite frankly, I'm glad. I feel that every time Miles inserts him into the offense one play at a time, it disrupts continuity. He almost cost them the AU game.
This kid is no Tebow. Keep him on the sideline until next year!

I'm leaning towards get his a__ gone. Haven't we learned from the Vick bros.? If these players don't through a wrench in your program at the college level they will most definitely do it in the NFL level. IF he learns anything in college I hope it will be himself. If it takes some time off the team, so be it. The program will survive, but if he will is the bigger question.

Well, according to our site, Perrilloux told officers at the scene he felt he was being discriminated against based on the color of his skin.
This was corroborated via the police report...
He also took a lie detector test through his attorney and released it to the media...He passed it...
The DA's office released the tape of the parking lot afterwards to his attorney, and the attorney released it to our local ABC affiliate, and he's indicated that he wants it broadcast so everyone can see that Perrilloux did nothing wrong.
Now, a local news radio (non sports talk) station is citing sources in the DA's office saying that Odom will face charges, and likely be dismissed from the team as a result.
Ryan Perrilloux, based on evidence, will be cleared of any and all wrongdoing in the incident.
Word is also that he will travel to Alabama, and he will practice now, as well.
Oh, and by the way...Multiple members of security on staff Friday night at The Varsity were fired as a result of the incident, and that place has NOT been afraid to prosecute ANYONE in the past.

Sweet Home Alabama....#22....that is life in the sec.......you hate a team one week and then have to root for them the next....
especially in a year like this one......the east is too crazy to call.....as a gator fan....i just want to win the south carolina and fsu game....and then move on to next year.....if some how we win the east....then that is just icing on the cake.....but as of right now...we don't deserve it....

I do have to wonder. Is there anyone out there who felt they had cause, but didn't press charges because of who this young fellow is, because they didn't feel they'd get a fair shake against him? Last I heard that too is a form of discrimination. More to the point, having done so early and often might have prevented the rest of this, provided it's all true. Just a thought.
