More bad news for Miami
No one got shot in the butt this time, but head coach Larry Coker announced today that four players will be suspended for Miami's season opener at home against FSU on September 4th. Leading the list are two starters, leading returning rusher and running back Tyrone Moss and receiver Ryan Moore. Coker gave no word on why the players were suspended but did say that Moore's suspension would carry over into the team's second game against Florida A&M.

Regan where did you hear that it was the Peach Bowl suspension carrying over into this year? All the reports I have read stated that the four players were involved in the same incident that caused the suspensions. Nothing has stated what the rule violation was yet.

You have to like that Bowden has come out and said this is a gutsy move by Coker. No matter what violation one of his players would do before the Miami game they would be dealt with in a matter other than suspension, such as extra running in practice.

FSU...the experts that have come out and discussed how these suspensions will effect the game have said it will make it a closer game, but Miami will still win! Moore won't be missed because he is an unreliable receiver, Bryant and Jones are third string players. The only player that Miami will truly miss is Moss, but Charlie Jones has proven in the past that he is a good enough player to step up and fill in for Moss.

Tampa -
That is a retarded statement.
How many players were dismissed from FSU's team this offseason for violations of team policy? Let's see: Fred Rouse, Cornelius Lewis, & Kenny O'Neal. How many players were released from UM's team for violation of team policy? None that I know of...correct me if I am wrong.
I do give Coker credit for doing what he did...it took balls, especially since he seems to be on the hotseat down there. I don't know why you guys want to crucify this coach so bad. He has brought class to this program and has had a pretty good record. UM could do worse.

FSU0897...that is a statement that Bowden said. Why are you getting your panties in a bunch if your own coach admits that for the Miami game he would choose other punishments other than suspension?!? Maybe Bowden does run the FSU program like a retard, but I am suprised that FSU0897 would admit that!

You know, this just beats all. You know what they say, you can only fire everyone else once. The next time its you! I think Coker knows that. He must have confidence in his team or either now hes all mighty. They must have done something VERY bad, Meriwhether "RETURNED FIRE" in the shooting incident and did not get in trouble, these guys must not have had the appropriate permit to do what they did. HAHA, Its still going to be a great game, FSU still has Weatherford as their QB. I know we lost last year but I can still see the faces of FSU fans at Doak last year when they were up by 3 with less than 2 minutes left and we were 1st and goal on the 2! Remember that!?!?!?!?! We wont do that agian thats for sure.
And to another note, I remember a game last year with several starters out (Moss) being one of them we STUNNED VT!!
GO CANES!!!!! 24-21 V

Sh*t man, I am retarded. I read your post wrong. If that is what Bowden did say, then yes I think that is wrong. You screw up, you should pay the price whether that is for the Miami game or the Duke game. My apologies for jumping in there without knowing what the hell I was talking about.
Where did Bowden make this comment?

Whoever said T.Moss is the only player UM will miss out of this suspension has it all wrong. T.Moss was not going to play for the Labor Day game anyway & was expected to get PT around Sept.30th. He hasn't even made any cuts on his knee. Rich Olson made it clear that T.Moss would have to beat C.Jones "who was a sophomore last season who expects to step up in his Junior year" out of his spot & Jones has done nothing but impress. He set the Dade county rushing scoring record in HS & will be a baller.
Moore will be the biggest impact player lost. The kid has been working hard in the sandpits all summer & has been the stud he came here to be. Moore put the 7 pts on FSU last year & would have had 7 more if Wright saw him sooner on that pass to the endzone where he was tackled on the 2 yd line. Look again & he had burned the FSU secondary.
I'll still take UM come Labor Day.

Wishful thinking Criminole fans! Coker knew he would be without Moore since the bowl game and Moss has been recovering from injury. The Canes are prepared and other players have been working all summer for a chance to spank the Criminoles. Our players violated team policy not the law!

Moss has come out and stated that he was suspended for missing study hall time in January. Article is located at http://www.miami.com/mld/miamiherald/sports/15184928.htm
Also Fighting Ibis, if you look at the pictures posted on ESPN for Moore letting people know he was suspended, he is dropping the pass in practice. Until Moore learns that wide receivers are supposed to catch the ball, he will not be missed. Moore is just another player that had great potential, but not the heart and discipline to improve from his high school skills.

T-Mac (#5):
Tampa Hurricane (#6):Sorry once more; I think I made a mistake. What I saw was that supposedly 'Moore's troubles' extend back to last season at the Peach Bowl. I took that to mean that the reason he was suspended carried over into this year; It doesn't look like that when I saw it again.
Sorry yall, I may have led people to the wrong conclusion; however, it doesn't look too specific either way...

Miami: Ryan Moore Suspended for Two Games
RotoWire.com Staff - RotoWire.com
Wednesday, August 2, 2006Update: The Hurricanes have suspended Moore for the first two games of the 2006 season, the Associated Press reports.
Recommendation: Moore's troubles extend back to last season when the team suspended him for the Peach Bowl. Head Coach Larry Coker declined to explain what provoked this year's punishment, which included three other Hurricane players. Disappointment in Moore's behavior also can be applied to his play on the field - with only 464 yards receiving and four touchdowns last season.

I think some people have to understand that the players are constantly under stress and under the microscope that is "The Media". I am a military officer and I see alot of problems with military enlisted members that are under stress. These things are going to be apart of the college and professional game. Not just football. The emphasis is put on football because we are in "The football state". The good kids recover and move on. The good coaches protect their players.
Stoops on the other hand...his QB...That deserves national attention!

Part of the problem is the crutch people offer: "They are under a lot of stress." That is a load of crap. I served in the military. There is a lot of stress, strong people cope. Weak people don't. It's that simple. That microscope isn't making things up, there really are problems. Football players don't have it all that tough, quit coddling these men.

T-Mac (#23):
I'm pretty sure the 'Canes will be fired up vs. FSU, considering the last game we played at the Peach Bowl gives us ample reason to get back on the field and win.
Plus the game is at the OB, and the guys should be eager to get back at FSU (especially Monroe and Peattie), I feel pretty good the 'Canes will win.
FSU has a great team, and are on par with us in many areas - especially with our suspensions.
Our offense might need some time to gel with Olson's scheme, but our defense will do just fine, so I expect a low-scoring game:
Miami 17, FSU 10.
As far as other games, I don't know enough about the major teams to have good score predictions, but I'll take a stab at a few win-or-losses:
Tennessee beats California (7 points)
Notre Dame beats Georgia Tech (3-7 points)
Southern California beats Arkansas (17 points)
Auburn beats Washington State (7 points)

FSU I don't know where you got your line for the game, but you are wrong! Here are the correct lines for the game:
SportsInteraction - Miami by 4
BetWWTS - Miami by 4
5Dimes - Miami by 3 1/2
Pinnacle - Miami by 3 1/2
bet365 - Miami by 4
WSEX - Miami by 3 1/2
Canbet - Miami by 3 1/2
BetCRIS - Miami by 3 1/2
betED - Miami by 4
Matchbook - Miami by 3 1/2
MANSION - Miami by 3 1/2A lot of the online betting sites like bodog and sportsbooks don't have a line on the game yet, but all of the ones that do have Miami favored by at least 3 1/2!

More great news for Hurricane fans about that dumb ass Ryan Moore. "Miami wide receiver Ryan Moore grabbed a woman by the throat, pushed her to the ground and threatened another woman, according to a police report." How many more times is Larry Choker going to let that little bitch Moore bring negative press to UM before he just kicks him off the team. It's not like he is a good receiver so why doesn't Choker just kick him off the team instead of suspending him indefinitely?

FSU did you finally realize that you had your lines backwards? Good news for you though is that the line is now down to Miami only being favored by 3 points. Hopefully the weather will be clear in Miami so these two powerhouse programs can show the rest of the nation why football in Florida (UM, UF, FSU) is better than any other state.

FSU - You really made yourself look like an A$$ on this blog. You should avoid going to Vegas at all costs. FSU +3 means that you have to add 3 to FSU's final score to even the betting. But FYI, 3 points is generally given for homefield so technically it is as even as it gets in Vegas. Quit wasting our tax dollars and learn something in school.

FSU -Only Bobby Bowden could lose four of his last five games and still get love from ESPN. Lets also not forget that miraculous fourth quarter comeback against Maryland at home. Your defense is worse this year than it was last year. The same defense that gave up all those points to Duke and the Citadel. I imagine you will improve on your worst rushing attack in the ACC. But hey, ESPN has love. See you Monday :)

larry coker must go. he took over a stud football program and won with a team assembled by butch davis. he has slowly but surely destroyed the program since then. how in god's name does he assemble an offensive football team this bad?

i'm a die hard miami fan and that second half was horrible. we suck, larry coker is horrible as a coach. our last two games we haven't broke 50 total yards in the second half combined??? and now we've lost 3 of 4??? i care about coker's winning percentage. we are seeing his teams now, not butch davis's. obviously there is a big problem somewhere.
