Miami, Nebraska agree to home-and-home series

From our long lost friend, CaneMutiny, comes an update on a long-lost rivalry.

"I can confirm that UM and Nebraska have agreed in principle to the home-and-home series that would send us to Lincoln in 2014 and Nebraska to Miami in 2015,'' UM athletic director Kirby Hocutt said....

The Omaha World-Herald reported the 2014 game would be Sept. 20, and the 2015 game in Miami would be Sept. 12.

While the Hurricanes and Huskers are 5-5 all time since the early 1950s, Miami can trace three of its national championships to wins over Nebraska.

Six of the ten games have come in bowls -- the Orange Bowl Classic four times, once in the Gotham Bowl ('62) and once in the Rose Bowl. Neither team has ever lost a "home" game in the series.
