Miami-FSU returning to Labor Day Weekend?

Put this in the hot rumors category, but it looks pretty solid.

ESPN is pushing Miami and FSU to reschedule their season openers (Maine @ FSU, FAMU @ Miami) and return the Noles-Canes series to the Monday night of Labor Day weekend.

The pair represented the ACC's premiere matchup for ESPN's Labor Day coverage for three seasons before ceding the spot back for the ACC to determine; however, ratings for the time slot have not recovered since FSU-UM shifted back to its traditional mid-season slot.

While FSU coach Bobby Bowden has complained about starting the season with a conference opponent, there's a good chance that things may work out in ESPN's favor, shocking as that may seem, as Maine may have an more sizable offer for Labor Day weekend than their FSU deal and ESPN is said to be throwing around large sums of cash to make the Canes-Noles their marquee game that weekend.

Again, just a strong rumor at this point, but... if I were betting, I think this one may happen.
