No Cupcake Club loses another member
Michigan State, who had never played a lower division school since the NCAA established the current divisions in 1978, will drop it's "No Cupcake Club" membership in 2009 with a scheduled home game against Montana State.
With Michigan State out of the club, the only FBS schools that have not played an FCS opponent are Southern Cal, UCLA, Notre Dame, and Washington.
Forty schools won't be play a D-IIA school this season but - sadly - Michigan State won't be one of them.
