Texas backup QB transfers to Ole Miss
As previously posted, Jevan Snead is leaving Texas, but now we know his destination: Ole Miss.
Snead made the decision after trips to TCU, Houston and Ole Miss.
"It wasn't really a recruiting trip, it was more of a business trip," Snead said of his weekend visit to Oxford. "The coaches didn't have to really make a pitch. I just got a chance to see what great coaches they are, just see how much success they've had. I'm looking forward to it."Snead also visited TCU and Houston, and he said he spent Monday afternoon discussing his decision with his parents and his high school coach, Chad Morris. Snead wrote down pros and cons for each program, and Ole Miss came out on top. He said Oxford reminded him of his hometown.
Snead will have to sit out the 2007 season, but will have three years of eligibility remaining.
"The toughest part for Ole Miss fans is that they're going to have to wait a year to see him," said Scott Kennedy, director of combines for Scout.com. "He's got a rocket arm, he's competitive, he's got good size; we're talking about a player that almost started at Texas as a true freshman. That ain't too bad."

Hmmmmm,Ryan Mallett, the #2 QB in the nation coming out of H.S. from Texarkana,TX,has NOT committed to a school from Texas.
In fact he was NOT interested in a school from Texas, but he was offered a scholarship from LSU,and Michigan, and sadly he has verbally comitted to Michigan.
Wonder why he did'nt choose LSU.......They are the greatest team in the greatest conference in the country................NOT!

Could it be that Michigan probably puts more QB's in the Pro's than any other school? Hmmmm, maybe that has something to do with it? Oh, almost forgot - they seem to have quite a few nice targets to throw it to also.

QB has never been a problem for UM.
Its Lloyd. Yeah I know, he coaches em, but look at that OSU game. If he was that creative and aggressive 4 yrs ago, UM wouldnt sweat that game so much.
Oh yeah, you should NEVER forgive him for that Brady/Henson fiasco.Tomcat said:

He will do a good job at Ole Miss.I visited Oxford and the campus last summer, really a great town as opposed to big cities Ft. Worth & Houston.
Coach Orgeron has got it going on.Mississippi will benefit from the transfer and become a team to be reconded with in the SEC.

Looks like things will be looking up for the Rebel nation. I'm looking forward to watching our inexperienced players from this season rain hell on the SEC next season. After taking Georgia, Auburn, Alabama, and LSU to the wire with so many true freshmen... watch out, Florida.. will might shock y'all with yet another win in a row ;) Granted, we haven't played Florida under Urban Meyer, I do believe. Hey, no foul in having high hopes. Schaeffer and GreenEllis will be back this upcoming season, and hopefully our receivers will, oh I dunno, learn how to catch a football. I hope Snead will adapt quickly to Ole Miss and prove a great asset to our 2008 season.

Go bloe, Mallett was offered by TEXAS but declided after the THE #2 QB in the Nation gave his verbal with TEXAS...John Brantley. We also have 5 star John Chiles coming in who played QB his senior yr. So with Colt, Harris, Brantley, Chiles all taking their shot at QB next season Jevan did the right thing.(he should have went to blow U iom) Heck look at THIRD sting wonder boy Perilloux now at lsu! HA!
TEXAS will be fine with the #1 recruiting class in the Nation!HOOK'EM

Are you really knocking Michigan's schedule? Next year their non-conference is Oregon and Notre Dame. I am not saying that is incredibly difficult but combined with Penn St., Notre Dame, and Wisconsen, it certainly is not anything to scoff at. Neither was this year playing non-conference at Notre Dame and also a solid win over a decent Vanderbilt team that gave some teams in the SEC (I won't say names, a run for their money. They played the current #1, #4, and #11 (roughly). That is a good schedule. Not incredible, but still good.HOOK'EM said:

Leave it to aggy to go smack on a fanblog. They win one game in seven years and act like they have won the NC....sad.
1939 was a long time ago aggy, how much money have y'all lost betting you would have won another NC?
Anyway, Snead made a great choice as did Mallett. Ryan has a monster of an arm..slow kid, but hey it's the big 10 ( 11 when are you guys gonna change that).Ramblin' Gator said:

Jevan is a great "running" quarterback. He ran from his commitment at UF when Tim Tebow committed there and now he's running from UT as McCoy has proven to be a better QB. Wonder where he'll run to when the Rebs' start someone ahead of him.
