ok, i'll buy that, for the most part. but does this data include bowl revenues split up amongst the schools in a conference? did the SEC go to more high-payout bowls that year? (I'm fairly certain we did) That would explain at least some of the $75M gap between 1st and 2nd place.

When did the SEC lose 2 schools?

The total revenue should be divided by 12.

Yeah - you can be sure the Vanderbilt Commodes and Kentucky Mildcats glom every penny of their cut of the SEC bowl revenues every year while easily dodging the expense of actually going to one.

Your numbers are off. The SEC has 12 teams and average $29,182,765 Million per school.

Didn't the ACC have 9 teams in the 2003 season? If so, the average would be $20 million per school.

The "average per school" is a median of the dataset.
