I think Playboy forgot to put Duke one there.
Alleged rape cases pretty much give themthe top spot.

Swamp is a really good place, but to be honest FSU has the same damn thing in a Place called Potbellys. Locals like myself called it Fratbellys hence there being tons of greeks. But I can not believe they listed Big Daddys as the favorite local bar, that is simply not true....Bullwinkles is hands down the cheapest and best place to drink any night of the week.

Big XII issue should be hot...

Duke definately should be at the top spot if you were considering time up to the "alleged" rape. I bet it isn't such a hot party zone now though...too many eyes looking on.

Guess they have never been to Texas State formaly known as S.W.T. in San Marcos Texas? The women out number the men and there are several live music venues with live music seven nights a week. The clear spring fed San Marcos river runs through campus and there are bikinis everywhere. They have drive thru beer barns that sell kegs to go. I dont know if they have intertube rentals at Wisconson or Indiana, but they do in the beautiful Texas hill country.

Forget ASU, San Diego, West Virginia, or Wisconsin. Why is the University of Memphis School of Law not on this list? We go to a bar every thursday night and get drunk, and then wake up the next morning and discuss subject matter jurisdiction. The weekends are wild, too. We do crazy things like go bowling, play minature golf, or even go to the movies (with real girls). Last Friday I stayed out till 1 in the morning. Memphis Law School is crazy. It is easily the best party school in the country.

Tomcat, I have to agree with your opinion of Texas State. I attended SWT in the 1980's and at the time we where getting national recognition as one of the top party schools in the country. As a scholarship athlete I came to SWT prepared- I brought my clothes, my truck, my stereo and a 16 foot ski boat. At the time, the girl to guy ratio was 9 to 1 and life was good. I transfered to Texas A&M a few years later and partied at several other schools in the SWC/Big 12, but nothing compared to atmosphere at Southwest Texas State.

    Rock the Swamp,

I went to Athens for the Georgia-LSU game two years ago and I went to Athens for the UGA vs. Auburn game this year. Both games were ridiculously amazing and the partying was awesome. Downtown Athens is straight up badass.
I went to Knoxville this year for the Tennessee vs. UGA game for like 3 days. That town is pretty crappy but the partying was nuts as is Neyland stadium.

Yes, I do go to the University of Florida, only because I did not get into Georgia...plus, UF is a good school as well, going to a college doesnt necessarily mean you have to be a fan of their football team. Ive been a Georgia Bulldog fan ever since I was like 3...I wasn't gonna betray my Dawgs simply b/c I go to a different school.

Eric, I actually went to Auburn, and work for a living. All I was saying is that drinking until 1 AM is nothing- especially for a law student.

Also, if you drink a case while playing Halo- you need to him a woman. How many friends do you have? If it was just you and 3 other guys, that's a 6-pack per person. Try drinking a pint of Maker's and a pint of Finlandia before an 11am kickoff, without eating anything, and NOT throw up. That's what I did in college.

    AU03,

Maybe you need to learn the word sarcasm. I have obviously been joking. I just think its funny how chumps like you need to get on a message board to brag about how much you drank in college. "Try drinking a pint of Maker's and a pint of Finlandia before an 11am kickoff, without eating anything, and not throw up. That's what I did in college." OOOOOOOOOhhhhhhhh. We've all done something like that dude. Your not anything special. No one cares.

Since a bunch of the people who post here seem like the types who would drink a case of beer while playing Halo (or NCAA 2006), I was unsure of your sarcasm. The name "Eric" tells me nothing about you except your name, nothing about your social life, drinking habits, video game habits, or anything else. Sarcasm usually doesn't work on message boards- it better transmitted through voice, were influction can signal it. However, the minature golf thing should have been a signal.

I am not proud of my old days of mixing whiskey and vodka at sunrise- while I did not throw up that day, I did get arrested.

A rebuttal to what Eric wrote below: (Dude I am so sorry that is all the University of Memphis has to offer)

Forget Wisconsin? WTF? You have got to be out of your mind!! Seriously bro your description of a party school is flat out ridiculous. Which part should I start with? Movies? Mini Golf? Bowling? – What the hell kind of fun is that. Ya we may do those things, but that isn’t our nightcap. Shit, 1:00 in the morning, the party is just getting started on a Monday night in UW!!!!!!!!!

Forget a Saturday, here in good old Wisconsin, it doesn’t matter what day of the week it is – just go get fucked up!! Here, why don’t you go to a Badger game, park on some college students lawn, slam a few beers from their half barrel, since every house has one. Then walk down the road and try the 3 story beer-bong. Ya you heard me, 3 stories of tubing with four spouts at then end, so 4 people can get drunk in a matter of seconds. No school can compare to UW.

Do you realize that the Playboy list used to keep Wisconsin off the list because people complained that it was boring always seeing them number 1? At one point they were number 1 for like 20 something years. And here they are still sitting pretty at number one. To tell you the truth, I can’t even understand why you would even admit you went to bed at 1 in the morning on a Friday.

If you don’t see the sun come up without going to bed, your shit is weak boy!!!!

And let me remind you, The Dawgs are still up in the alltime series 46-36..however- I will allow you guys to beat UGA as the Dawgs rake in SEC titles and BCS Bowl Bids...Florida can go on losing 3 regular season SEC games as far as Im concerned and taking home absolutely no hardware..how many times have the Gators played in Atlanta for the SEC Championship since Spurrier was your coach??

Yea, thats a big ZERO! times..if you want to start up this argument thats fine with me..Ive had it so many countless times it has become ridiculously old.

The age old question of who parties harder will never be answered...I have been to many of these venues of higher learning. Yes State St. in Wisconsin is packed with bars and the only thing harder than getting a beer is finding an attractive girl! Ohio University is filled with hot girls and has the best Halloween party I've ever been to. UGA has an awesome bar scene, Bama sucks, well because Bama sucks. ASU has by far some of the hottest women in the world...sent from towns near and far. The campus is super clean, no nasty townies like Miami OH.
I just think that anytime you have students who only need to go to 3 hours of class a day you are going to have a party...as for law school, those jokers really get down. Most are seasoned vetrans. Plus nothing relieves stress like 18 shots of Jager!!!!
    oh well, just my opinion!

    Rock the Swamp,

Georgia has won 12 official SEC titles all-time..Florida has won 6 official SEC-titles. Nobody's arguing that Florida dominated Georgia in the last 15 years. Im just reminding you about the bigger picture, although I know thats hard for you to see when it shows that the Gators still have along way to go to catch up to the Dawgs as a football program, all-time. Florida was nothing until Spurrier..absolutely nothing. I am also reminding you that the Gators seem to put more importance on the UGA game than the rest of their games combined. Florida comes together for the UGA game, but I'm reminding that since Spurrier was your coach you have absolutely NOTHING in the bigger picture.

Since Spurrier was coach- Florida BCS bids- 0...Florida appearances in the SEC title game- 0...Bowl wins since 2001- only 2 out of 5 years, beating Maryland and Iowa- whoopdy doo

The fact is, Florida has done nothing but beat Georgia since Spurrier was coach...and if that's enough to make you happy I'll take that as a compliment- beating a program like Georgia year after year should make you proud. Because since the ole Ball coach left, Georgia- under Mark Richt, has collected 2 SEC Championships, 3 SEC Championship appearances in 5 years(SEC East Titles), 2 BCS Bowl bids, and a record of 4-1 in bowl games. Both programs are on the rise, but UGA has a lot more to show for it in the bigger picture.

You hit the nail on the head, Franko. Don't forget to mention that UF barely beat UGA this year when we didn't even have our starting quarterback playing. Florida has barely squeezed by UGA for the past couple years, and UGA's program has excelled far beyond anyone's expectations when Richt first began here. AS FOR PARTYING, I know I'm biased, but UGA tops probably 95% of other universities. Sis goes to FSU, cousin goes to Wisconsin, both have been to Athens and were impressed to say the least. Voted #1 music scene in the U.S. by Rolling stone mag, #1 school mascot for multiple years, 72 bars within walking distance from campus/numerous apt complexes, smokin hot southern girls, and a football team that actually justifies the amount of boozing prior to kickoff. This weekend is the Athens twighlight festival which is a massive bike race and eradicates open container laws DT. Don't forget the Classic City Brewfest also. The only other school ive visited that comes close to UGA is LSU (I just wish we played them every year - it was turning into a respectable rivalry)... Blah...

Wisconsin should be the number one every year and should probably be exempt from the list and retired as just being in a class by itself.
I wonder why no East Carolina University this year? Huh? Greenville is nuts and the ECU coeds are the best the UNC system has to offer.

No doubt... Wisconsin kicks ass. Aside from that, there are a ton of excellent party schools out there, so to try to construct a list (like Playboy did) is actually pretty foolish. Yeah, yeah... Playboy is just trying to sell magazines, something they can't do very well anymore now that the Internet is 98% porn. But it still doesn't make sense to put, say, Indiana on the list and to keep an equally incredible party school like, well, Penn State off of it. I could give another ten examples like that, but what good what it do? I'm done here.

FSU has been #1 so many times that they are professionals. Which the reason why you dont see them #1 anymore is because no professionals allowed. whereas ecu is just a joke and nothing compared to a party school. After living in Atlanta for a decade and doing work in every part of Skynyrd's "Sweet Home", I just have to laugh my ass off every time I see or hear anyone from Alabama make fun of ANYONE. "Pot, please meet the kettle"...lol

    mountainerndixie:

Don't you mean: Said the pot to the kettle, "You're black." (I'm assuming you're looking for an original and clever variation on the phrase that includes a pot calling a kettle black, denoting hypocrisy). The expression is "the pot called the kettle black," and has nothing to do with the pot being introduced to the kettle.

"BTW, what does the "524" represent in your name? Your credit score or your bank balance?"

-That is about as funny as a bucket of AIDS, although I'm sure you laughed the entire 2 mintues it took your fingers to find the keys to produce that gem.

I think this whole "pot calling the kettle black" can be turned right back at you if you're from West VA. I'm from Alabama, and I'm not going to knock WV, but someone from WV knocking Alabama is like a Tennessee fan calling BAMA's program dirty and underhanded.

Once upon a time, millions of years ago, when mostly wandering neanderthals living in homes crafted from dirt, ate their own sh*t, and happily humped sheep, sisters, and anything else with a hole, they were presented with fire. Of course they burned themselves, burned others, things they owned, things they didnt own, etc. Its so refreshing to see progress like this finally coming to Morganhole and the 3rd world nation that is West bygosh Virginia.

If you are so sensitive about West Virginia then why did you split? You said you've done work in every part of Skynyrd's "Sweet Home", you are basically telling that man that West Virginia didn't have anything to offer to him so you went to his backyard to work.
As for a BTW: Talking trash online is for high schoolers. "Credit score? Bank account?" you make us look like the rednecks.

Thanks for the lesson in morals, WVU4life. I don't know what I would have done if you hadn't given me that lesson and explained it to me. Wow, a tasteless shot makes all WVU grads look like D-Bags? Give up the drama, please.

Sure, it was idiotic....just like the comment about "sleeping with relatives", to which I responded.

I will remain in the south until the second of my two children finish school. They were born here and want to finish here...not that it's any of your business. When they do, I will be heading back to WV.

BTW, wareagle, I know how the "pot and kettle" joke goes. But, for message board banter and in the interest of space, sometimes one can convey his meaning without having to repeat every word of the reference.....it obviously worked. You knew what I meant.

First, off, I'm not wareagle254. Secondly, "Pot, please meet the kettle," has just as many words as "pot calling the kettle black," so I'm not buying your excuse. My point was to show that if you change the words of an idomatic expression too much- IT COMPLETELY CHANGES THE MEANING. I knew what you meant because the words "pot" and "kettle" were present, but what you said has nothing to do with the actual expression itself. What you were conveying is that a pot is meeting a kettle in a formal setting- which has nothing to do with hypocrisy (the meaning of the actual expression).

Huh did anyone mention Chico State in California, let me see Halloween goes off with hot chicks dancing naked in the street, then when rush week happens, OH MY GOD!!!! Thanks for stopping by "Shanes World" and getting the boys in trouble and kicked outta school, or how about the Luau, talk about scantly clad women walking drunk to your dorm or frat house, and last but not least, my favorite holiday, St. Patricks Day, where there is a make shift parade, and you start drinkin green beer at 5 am, eat "green eggs and ham" at 6 am, then go to class, at 8 am, then go to the frat parties at 10 am, and hell i don't remember anything after that since i was in a drunken stupor, but i seem to remember a hot senior chick walking around in a Guiness box bikini,WOW i really need to get back

Just to add to the Chico State list:
    -Labor Day Sacramento River Float
    -Cesar Chavez Day
-Cinco de Mayo (what a mess)
There are many more... But none are National Holidays

Note the fine print at the end of the PB article and see how they were asked not to come to Chico, because of the schwag Dean, "Zing"

I would like to start by reading a direct quote from Playboy Magazine. "WVU is no longer included in our list of Top 10 party schools because we feel it is unfair to include professionals in a list of amateurs." Now I like the south and SEC football too, but anyone can tailgate when the weather only ranges from hot to mild during the season. Come to Morgantown in late November and party and tailgate with us at 6:00 am when it's 11 degrees outside. We also are also the originators of burning things when we win big games. We have 3-peated the BIG EAST and I guess we won the SEC last season seing as how we torched Georgia's defense like couches in the Sugar Bowl. Furthermore we have one of the largest alumni bases in the country for Mountaineer Nation is in all 50 states and over 100 countries. Needless to say our fans are some of the most passionate in college football (and basketball for that matter in which we also kick ass) so our global fan base, our 2 SOPHOMORE heisman candidates, and the rest of the MOUNTAINEERS will see you in Glendale, AZ for the BCS championship.

P.S. Blacksburg, VA and VA TECH's mental institution resembling campus smell much like cow dung. It's okay though Michael(RON MEXICO) and Marcus, the Mc'Donalds tech-9 waiving pedophile, Vick bring a lot of class to the smelly city.

P.P.S. WHAT THE HELL IS THAT ON FRANK BEAMER'S NECK?

WVU beats UGA so they win the SEC.

    Does this mean:

V-Tech beats UWV so they really won the Big Easy...err...East.

Hell, that means UF won the ACC cuz they pounded FSU.

P.S. it's not our fault 3 quality teams left the conference. i really think we can play with anybody though. we are the winningest college football program in the country without a national championship. it's gotta be coming soon.

In my opionion, just about every major public university has bad @ss parties and will claim that they party the hardest and plus its college. Obviously, some schools party harder than others and that is because there is nothing else to do around the town that their university is located in, so the students resort to partying. So a school like West Virginia-no offense to the Mountaineers, can say that they party the hardest because there is nothing else to do in that part of West Virgina which makes everyone want to party.

First of all, no school is a party school when they get drunk once or twice or even three nights a week...you're a party school when something is going on every night and alcohol is available at any time of the day.

I don't care for WVU, im a Tech fan personally, but it is a fact that Morgantown alone consumes 2% of the nations alcohol. And parties at Tech suck...I would laugh at anyone who calls Tech a party school.

I go to Radford University, which is like 20 minutes from Virginia Tech if you havent heard of it. Everything here revolves around drinking. The 7-11 next to campus sells more alcohol than any other on the east coast. And Radford is such a small school, only 9,000 students! The town is dead and theres nothing else to do. We party like its our job. I'm sure bigger universities can party hard too, but for what we have, its wild here. Kids come from Virginia Tech to party every weekend because Tech parties suck and thats the way it is. There is always a party here, every night no matter what.

We should be on that top ten list!! :)

I'm 24 and I did my undergrad at Michigan State and my grad I am doing at University of Florida. I've partied at MSU, UF, SDSU, UMichigan, and FSU. I agree with the people that says it's all a matter of opinion. At Michigan State, they have 200+ people in house parties all around the subdivision. At UF, you can find a keg party almost everywhere, but there is a strong emphasis on a gigantic bar scene. I've been to frat parties, apartment parties, and house parties. It's all a matter of the school size, the local ordinences (how much do they allow before they stop the parties), and your own personal experience. If you go out and "try" to find a party, you are going to have better luck at some schools with just random parties everywhere where everyone is welcome versus other schools where you have to be in a clique or have your name on the list to have access to the hot parties. Every campus and experience is completely different, but from my experience the campuses with the biggest size are the best. San Diego State seems overrated to me because even though I had fun there, the parties were smaller, and the cops run around there ticketing kids for MIPs. Whereas, party at FSU and I don't see a bunch of cops running around ticketing every drunk kid on Domingo Drive. But that's just from my experiences -- someone else may see it totally different. So you can't make a "list" unless you visit each and every University and spend a good month there getting to know the hot spots and different types of parties. I only have that with 4, and that's probably a lot from normal standards, but not good enough to generate any type of list or some dumb student survey.

radford over VT? are you kidding me? The only people who go to party at radford are the sluts and potheads. I was just reading but that is the most insane thing ive ever heard. Try to get someone from VT to say that Radford has better parties. For those of you who dont know, radford is for the retards who live in Virginia and cant get into VT or Virginia

i go to UW madison and it is most definately the biggest party school. on game day saturdays, every house on campus will have at least 2 kegs, and there will be beer pong and flip cup played in front yards, music blasting and cops drinking with students. every night (weekend or not) there are keggers or wop parties all over campus. the social scene in madison is insane!

Yeah ASU is lame this year, sure there is 20 parties a night but the cops have really, really come down hard, It's still a good party school just lots of drunk driving everywhere. Expect to be at a 1st party 10pm-12am till 150+ people show up then the cops bust it. #2 party 1-2am the party every one started coming over to, then cops come and give MICs. Party #3-20 are also broken up buy this point. So you drive really drunk home and drink more. Then the cops show up at your place and "talk" to and give you a 90 day noise warning. This means they put a 1000 fine on your water bill if they have to come back. It’s the new sheriff in town he’s a fucker. Last year first semester parties were 300+ people 10 kegs; cops really didn’t care to much they were just in the area making sure fights didn’t happen.

Oh well I guess Madison can be up at the top of the list after a poor showing of their ussually crazy halloween bash. Honestly IU, number 8. They obviously have not partied here. Oh and little 500, undescribable, this whole city is a party all week.
