Princeton Review: Top 10 Party Schools
In a follow up to the Playboy Top 10 Party Schools, the Princeton Review has released its 2006 list of Top 10 Party Schools:
1. University of Texas at Austin (#2 in hard liquor, #3 in beer drinking, #13 in pot smoking)
2. Penn State University
3. West Virginia University
4. University of Wisconsin-Madison
5. University of Mississippi
6. Ohio University
7. University of Massachusetts-Amherst
8. Louisiana State University
9. University of Iowa
10. University of California, Santa Barbara
On the flip side, BYU again one the title of "Stone Cold Sober U", the school's ninth year atop the no-fun list.

This isn't a good thing. Back in the 90's Ball State was ranked number 1 by Playboy a few years in a row. The school decided this was not a good thing and became very strict with their drinking rules and discipline. Since then they have disappeared off the list and as a party school. Everyone that used to go to Ball State now goes to Indiana to party. Hope this doesn't repeat. (Also happened to Rhode Island the year after they were ranked number 1).

The princeton review is full of shit. They don't know anything, they're the people that make the books for the sat's. The have Lehigh University as #17. That is the smallest school ever, and i don't even think they knbow what beer is. How can anyone think the princeton review's party list is better then playboys party list. I think playboys is alittle better then the princetons review and if you believe the princeton review your a damnn idiot

yea def, and how are ASU and FSU not even on the list? I think Princeton Review does a survey and Playboy actually goes to the schools. How Lehigh is ranked #17 idk. I've never even heard of the #15 school...Alot of schools on this list are party schools but they are missing some major ones.

As a graduate of Ohio University and a local boy from Southeast Ohio who spent many a night on Court Street, I can say that #6 is acceptable. Down from #2 last year...probably accounted for by my absence on campus.
As for the abundance of Mountaineers suggesting that WVU should be #1, I implore you to take a trip to Austin. Live music everywhere, Hill Country women turning heads and breaking hearts, whiskey that'd make Willie Nelson cringe...the place is a blast. Mo-Town's great, but Austin is its own category. I've partied in both towns. There is no comparison.

These rankings are laughable. Randolph-Macon is a private school in Virginia. Being from Virginia I wouldn't even consider Macon top 10 in the state for partying. VT,JMU, Radford,UVA, Christopher Newport,GMU,VCU,Richy Richmond, S**t even William & GARY is a better party school than Macon.

Ohio University keeps popping up on these lists, but having gone there in the '70s and revisited several times since, it is definitely NOT the party school it once was. Most of the bars on the main drag (Court Street) have been replaced by fast food franchises and five-and-dime stores. Sad, but true. OU still has it's infamous Halloween bacchanal, but this is perhaps the only reason it still gets ranked. However, I'm proud it beats out that stuck-up jock school in Columbus.

when I was at psu years ago we were no listed on the playboy list because we were considered professionals and they only listed amateurs. but psu is still on the list must say something for staying power. We won the herbies espn for best student section. And god bless joepa and tom bradley to succeed and continue the psu history of pride and class. Maybe not always winning but always doing it with class.

Theres nothing better than downtown lincoln after the game... the players oft come out to the scene, 50 bars or so all packed into 3sq. mile area.. all within walking distance of the stadium (even for fat ppl) damn good food, damn good views, damn good women!! whats beats that? being an alum of UNH I can say that the shool should no longer be on this list. As soon as they brought in that mormon drill sargent to be president, the party scene completely halted. I think there was more drinking going on in my junior high than at UNH.

VolsFan17 the simple reason that Tennessee can't be in the top 10 is because at their partys the only people hooking up are related to each other. When you go to a school that the average family tree doesn't have any branches, you can't be suprised when normal people think that that is sick and you should be ashamed of yourselves.

We laugh at the other schools in Virginia like Virginia Tech and JMU...big schools, bad parties. All of our friends that go to Tech come here every weekend to party with us because theirs are so damn lame. They have been known to throw down a good one occasionally but nothing can compare to a Radford party. Theres nothing like spending a Thursday evening at a 9 kegger...it is Thirsty Thursday afterall. The week nights here are wild and the weekends are crazy. So why isnt Radford on that list?? We might be a small school, but we can drink anyone under the table ;)

Well see this list is just for the little drinking schools it does not tell us of the pro college drinkers. On the Pro list you have Michigan State and of course Western Michigan. Western could not be ranked in a recent poll since the testers were unable to tell when parties started and ended it was just huge blured party. Also you cant forget Western and Central Michigan since they have the biggest party of any place ever year at their rival game which changes between the two schools every year. At the 2005 Western-Central week there were a reported 100,000 extra students in kalamazoo. Now look at this Western has 26000 and Central has 27000 so the rest of the students come from other schools to party with us like MSU, UM, CMU, EMU, ND, GVSU, and others no school beats that.

I graduated from WVU, but have been to UT - Austin to party with friends. Both schools can party hard, there is no doubt of that.
With respect to my Mounty alumni, Austin as a city has a ton more diverse offerings for entertainment than Morgantown. There seems to be a music festival every week in Austin with huge performers always coming to town. So based, on the city itself UT deserves that #1 rank.
But as for the schools, WVU and UT students are fairly equal in the partying category.
