I agree more with the usa poll. Don't agree with mich, jumping west virginia, my hogs looked good but not 17th, Florida a lot better agianst LSU than USC was agianst Wash.

Michigan would beat West Virginia anyday. Florida will lose this weekend anyway to an Auburn team on the rebound (no way auburn loses two home games in a row). I also think that Michigan is better than USC. Michigan should be #2.

Don't agree with Michigan jumping WV either. Too much has been made over their ND win. Face it: Notre Dame isn't nowhere near as good as people thought they'd be this year.

I am a WV fan and I hate to see them get jumped like that but its the price of the weak non-con schedule. I would have to give Mich the 2 spot. WV at 3, Florida 4, and USC 5. But the only poll that matters is the last one. Cal can beat USC, somebody gotta lose between OSU and Mich and Florida will lose too, maybe this weekend. Not trashing the Gators just a compliment to your conferance. USC, maybe a bit of a dis, you guys just dont look that tough, sorry.

So who besides Michigan has beaten Notre Dame??????????? NO ONE!
Notre Dame is 10-1 going into USC! A win and they are in a BCS bowl.
Michigans defense has been torching teams this year!

    GO BLUE!

Trying to be realistic. 1.OSU, 2.Michigan, 3.WVU 4.USC, 5.Florida. Think Fla/LSU game was more LSU screwing up than Florida outplaying them (LSU fumbling on own 19 Fla scores 7, fumble for a safety, Fla scores 2, and Fla gets the ball back and scores 7). Florida scores 9 points as a result of 2 unforced fumbles and wins by 13. USC beat Wash by 6, (Wash beat San Jose St.(1-4) by 6, Fresno St. (1-4) by 1,)doesn't impress me.
On a side note,(I am really not a big fan of running up scores) I hope WVU starts putting up all that they can. Since they don't have a pedigree like, USC, Fla, Ga, ND, etc..., that's probably the only way that they will get any respect.

Austin, I dont think Michigan can keep up with WV's offense. ND as usual is highly over rated. However I would have to give Mich the 2 spot based on performance so far. Really now, this is the same offense that rang last years Bulldogs bell pretty hard, I dont think this years Mich defense is as good as last years Bulldogs. I have said it all ready, look for the Mich/OSU winner to be undefeated. From my perspective thats easily OSU. 11-1 Mich goes to Rose. The Louisville/WV winner undeafeted also. USC I think loses to Cal. The SEC champion with at least one loss if not two. Fair or not it very well should end up with tha BE verses B10 in the championship.

The AP poll in my opinion has everyone in the Top 10 in the right place. Florida is FINALLY where they should be in the polls and Michigan is definately #3 in the country. West Virginia hasn't played anyone and is definately not deserving of #5.

South Craolina mountaineer: which 2 unforced fumbles are you refering to? The fumble that resulted in the safety was fumbled twice, the second time it was forced by riley cooper. And the other fumble we got on our own 1 yard line and it didnt take us anywhere, we ended up punting it. However we were able to knock out the LSU players and they were so scared they dropped about 5 completely wide open passes for really no reason except for footsteps.

hey eastern, you can say the Defense that held Notre Dame to 4 rushing yards could not keep up with the west virginia offense. You can also say the defense that held Wisconsin to 12 rushing yards could not keep up......the same wisconsin the beat Auburn last year.
Notre Dame is overrated????? Who have they lost to?
Oh I get it,they are overrated becouse Michigan stomped the snot out of them! You can keep saying Michigan is not as good.......or maybe (0-6)Colorado
    can out play Georgia!
I guess Michigan is just going to have to shut the critics up.

    Sebastian:

Sorry, Penn State should have lost that game to Minnesota. That was the most flagrant bit of bad refereeing or plain fixin' a game I ever saw. Did you see the play at the end of the game which should have been an obvious non-call? No, they call a pass interference and Penn State goes on to win that game. The refs gave them that game and if you had watched it you would know that. It was nothing short of what happened for Oregon against Oklahoma. Conference referees, I think, are ordered to try and make the conference "marquee teams" look good whenever they get the chance. We see this all the time in college football. USC did benefit from some of that this weekend. But, many other teams do also when the going gets tight. And, nobody gets the benefit of the doubt like Notre Dame does.

No team is ever the same as last year. What happens prior to this year is completely irrelevant. Too many people use polls to determine how good someone is. A poll is just just a collection of opinions from people who only watch a couple of games each weekend, usually the same teams.

mgoblue, jeez man, I said they deserve second. No, ND offense doesnt compare to WV. WV would run the ball right down Michigans throat. ND is over rated because they lost 3 games last year, got stomped by OSU and now Michigan and had to have a miracle to get by Mich State. Any other team in America with that resume would be 15th at best. Look, I like Mich, Ill root for them in the big ten, but they wont see an O-line and backs like WV unless you catch us at bowl time. Sorry

Somebody out there tell me what you think of this scenerio..... Michigan beats Ohio State in the battle of two undefeated teams. Michigan moves up to #1 in the BCS and Ohio State drops only to #2 because they were so far ahead of everyone else before the Michigan game. Is it possible? Please think it over before you scold me with your response.

Yeh, I agree with Ohio State as the Top Team. Other than that - it's a shootout for 2nd with Michigan, USC, Florida, West Virginia all in the hunt. There is not much difference in these teams and there is still alot of football left. Nobody ought to be getting too excited yet. There are three fine one loss teams in Texas, Tennessee and California in my opinion. I don't know if any of these teams can sneak in.
I certainly see the winner between Ohio State-Michigan and West Virginia-Louisville ending up unbeaten. It will be hard to put West Virginia into the game because of their soft schedule. I really don't know what to make of this situation. USC has a chance to remain unbeaten, but it will be difficult, the way that California has been playing. I can't see Florida running the gauntlet. Sorry, it's just not in my crystal ball. But, I have been wrong before. I can see Tennessee and Texas and maybe even Arkansas ending up with only one loss. It's gonna be tough this year. It's looking likely to me that it very well could be Ohio State and West Virginia for the National Championship. That is: unless some other teams really start to pour it on in impressive fashion.

Usually a team gets better as the season progresses. Each game is detemined by who shows up.The early season games we saw some good teams go down, that have now improved Arkansas,Texas,Cal,Ga Tech and Tenn
On the other hand, is this the same USC we saw in week 1& 2 ?
Why in polls would someone be ranked lower than a team that they beat-Example Arkansas
Missu looks purty tough and have beaten some quality opponents TTech and Ole Miss we will see this weekend as they travel to Kyle Feild AKA Aggieland Hookem-Horns

Tommy T, your post 18 is dead on. I love my mounties but the schedules too soft. A one loss SEC champion will be 2nd behind an undeafeted B10 champion...deservedly so. WV didnt want the schedule they got, everyone hoped Miss st would be a lot better. Our hope here is that the BE at the end will have 12-0 UL/WV, 11-1 UL/WV and a 10-2 Rutgers. then maybe it wont be so bad. Even an 8-4 Pitt isnt out of the question. At least we made MD look reaaly bad on national TV.

C-dogg...Mich 1 and OSU 2 after aclose OSU loss. Could be but history would say otherwise. normally it seems that when a 1 loses to a top 5 they usually drop to at least 4th. Again these things arent necessarily fair or correct, just opinion.

eastern,Michigan has two tough games left,in Penn State and Iowa, they could fall before the Ohio State game.
Drew Pate,Arkansas is a good team, and is deserving of more, but if you admit that Arkansas is a top SEC team, then your admiting USC can blow out the best of the SEC. And that's unthinkable for all of the other SEC teams. Sorry, but Arkansas will not be popular becouse of it.
GO ARKANSAS PUT A HURT'IN ON THE REST OF YOUR SCHEDULE!

The rankings are not always fair to the less prestigous teams, but for schools that do not have a history of being good, they have to prove themselves first, and then the love will come,it may not be fair, but I do remember last year,Michigan State was ranked #11 after a big win over illinois......and they finished 5-6........thats why Michigan State was 3-0 and not ranked this year.....they are now 3-3.
Ohio State,USC,Florida,Michigan-if two of these teams are undefeated at the end of the season, they should get a NC over West Virginia, becouse they have played much harder schedules. I think West Virginia is a great team, but West Virginia does not have the prestige of the four schools ahead of them, and has not played as tough a schedule, and you cannot rank a team becouse you think they have more talent,if that were the case you could have a couple of two or thee loss teams in the NC,you reward the teams that have the heart and determination to go undefeated. Florida,Michigan,Ohio State may not blow teams out.......it's not that they are not as good as West Virginia,it's becouse they have class, and class is more important to some Big Ten and SEC schools than the last poll of the season.

We need to scrap polls and trying to figure positions.
    USC 50 ARK 14
    ARK 27 AUB 10
    AUB 40 WSU 14
USC 28 WSU 22 Go figure.
    Anybody can beat anybody.

Shrink the season back to about 9 or 10 games and go to playoff. They will probably go to playing a game every weekend, I think BYU did about 10 years ago.

    easternfan,

Thanks for your opinion on that. It would be next to impossible because of the SEC title game (and the respect that their conference has and deserves). However if that does happen though, you heard it here first. Remember Nebraska getting to play Miami in the Rose Bowl after a late season loss to Colorado.

  31. C-DOGG said:

If USC goes undefeated and wins all the rest of their games by less than a touchdown, they should stay #2 and go to the title game. Why? because Ohio State did pretty much the same thing a few years ago and upset my Canes for the title. The only argument I can see is Florida going undefeated (including the SEC title game). Then we really have a problem.

    1) WVU/Louisville winner doesn't desereve automatic NT appearance (all the hype just helps sell magazines and up tv ratings)
    2) Ohio State edges Michigan 20-17 for NT appearance
    3) Florida will lose twice
    4) USC will lose
    5) NC State upsets the ACC with shocking conference championship win
    6) Texas/ND backin to play OSU in title game

I see NC State finishing the season with 7 wins and 5 losses (including the Zips from Akron & Southern Miss-w/out Favre)Clemson, Vtech, and Gtech have the inside track on Jacksonville.

Matt, Jeez again man, its so easy to say another team has no class. I wont say it about the B10 and I wont say it about you. If you dont think WV and Louisville and Rutgers and Pitt have class fine, like a poll, its your opinion and your entitled to it. AS far as prestige goes though dissing WV is not fair, are they OSU and Mich no, did they win last years Sugar, yes. The dues where paid then if thats how your counting the right to be ranked. As far as Arkansas goes,I see a team much like WV last year, took a few games to get things right. A team that loses early may be better at midseason. USC on the otherhand seems to be droping off. WV or Louisville will not get the NC game if: either one loses, USC remains undefeated, the SEC champion has only one loss or is undefeated. I almost hope they dont because they would probably lose to OSU. However would crush a one or two loss ND...as would a lot of top 45 teams!

    T Hart,

Why should a 1 loss Notre Dame team make the title game over a 1 loss Michigan team when they beat N.Dame head to head? I thought that was why they changed the BCS formula to avoid this scenerio. Remember Florida State playing Oklahoma for the title in 2000 over Miami(who beat FSU head to head). After that situation, the BCS rules supposively changed. I understand the Texas scenerio, but not the N.Dame one. Time will tell.

    Where's the JUSTIFICATION ???

    No. 6 Texas --- No. 22 Arkansas
    [Ohio St 6-0] = [USC 5-0]
    Oklahoma 3-2 Iowa St 3-3 NoTexas 2-4 = Vandy 2-4
    Rice 1-5 = Utah St 1-5
    non-D1A team = (meaningless)

West Virginia No. 5 --- Rugters No. 24
Their SOS and Record are virtually the SAME! The best win WVU has is Maryland 3-2, compared to Rutgers best win over So Florida 4-2. How is West Virg No. 5 ?!!!

LSU has a Voodoo-Hex on the Poll Voters or something... LSU's SOS and Record is comperable to Washinton State, Texas Tech... a couple of 4-2 teams like Penn St and Washington have argueably accomplished more than LSU has 6 weeks into the season.

    VTech and Wake ???

    My list:

    1.) Ohio State (6-0) 2.) USC (5-0) 3.) Texas (5-1) 4.) Florida (6-0) 5.) Michigan (5-0) 6.) Tennessee (5-1) 7.) West Virginia (5-0) 8.) California (5-1) 9.) Arkansas (4-1) 10.) Louisville (5-0) 11.) Auburn (5-1) 12.) Iowa (5-1) 13.) Notre Dame (5-1) 14.) Missouri (6-0) 15.) Oregon (4-1) 16.) Clemson (5-1) 17.) Georgia Tech (5-1) 18.) Georgia (5-1) 19.) Boise State (6-0) 20.) Nebraska (5-1) 21.) Rutgers (5-0) 22.) Wisconsin (5-1) 23.) Virginia Tech (4-1) 24.) LSU (4-2) 25.) Oklahoma (3-2)

The most glaring situation is that there are 24 of the top 26 teams (including BC at 4-1) with only one loss or less at almost the midway point. How many cupcake teams have they all played combined? It's comical! Every single team, except for the chosen few, are completely afraid to play any tough OOC foes.

Ohio State is a solid #1 after Texas womped Oklahoma. Adds credibility to their case. USC is a solid #2 after Arkansas dismantles Auburn. Texas jumps to #3 - as only Ohio State has beat them in the last two years plus. Florida is only #4 based on the very lousy play of LSU (I realise that Florida caused some of it - but, there were many dropped punts and missed coverages that Florida did not cause). Michigan can only be #5 because a win over Notre Dame (who has almost lost three games) is not the end all. Let's see how they do now that Mario Manningham has been scoped. Tennessee moves up to #6 based on it's pasting of Georgia and California's ascent. West Virginia falls to #7 as they haven't played anyone and the win over Georgia last year looms less impressive today. California climbs to 8th after demolishing the Quacks. Arkansas might even be better than #9 - we'll see. Louisville squeeks in at #10 only because they have continued to dominate with their top runner and QB.

Sorry, Notre Dame has to keep plumeting until they actually beat a good team by more than two points. I can't understand why this team keeps taking up space in the Top Ten. Does a 31-10 win over Stanford vault you up the charts? What am I missing here? If USC doesn't hammer that team by more than 50+ - we're gonna have to here crap all over the country. The rest is pretty self explanatory. I try to keep it all based on performance. This is not a reflection of who I think is really the Top Teams. If Florida can get past Auburn this week I will definately bring them up to at least #2.

Some more fun facts to leave you all with:

The Sagarin and Anderson/Hester computer polls rank SOS and strongest conference.

    Strongest Conference:

    1a.) SEC
1b.) Pac-10 (these two running neck and neck)
3.) Big 10 (large drop off to get here)
    4.) Big East
    5.) Big 12
    6.) ACC

Looks like a tie for 1st. I know that LSU has Fresno left and USC has Notre Dame. I think UCLA might even have Notre Dame - am I wrong?

    Toughest schedules so far:

    1.) Stanford
    2.) USC
    3.) Arizona
    4.) Louisiana Tech
    5.) Washington
    6.) Oklahoma
    7a.) Tennessee
    7b.) Mississippi State
    9.) Notre Dame
    10a.) Florida
    10b.) Arkansas
    12.) Ohio State
    13.) San Diego State
    14.) Penn State

What? Four of the Top Five from the Pac-10? Well, I also see four SEC teams here also. Of course, these are not the teams that anyone has been baggin' on either. That's odd. I notice that six of these teams are some of the very highest rated in the land. Could it have anything to do with who they play when they win? Poor Stanford though! As bad as they are - there just way over their heads right now. Now, why do the computers insist that USC has played the 2nd hardest schedule so far? Aren't the computers listening to all the people who babble on endlessly about how USC doesn't play anyone? They should program in a thread that takes into account what people who don't really understand college football at all think about it. Oh, I forgot that they already do that - they incorporate the AP Poll into the equation! My Bad!

So-Cal you make me laugh outloud.Looking at your list you have Wash #24 and Oklahoma #28,now please correct me but didnt Oklahoma beat Washington,or did you rank Wash higher because they almost beat USC? Hm Granted Oklahoma has two losses however, doesnt Wash as well? A bit pro Pac-10 dont you think. One of Oklahoma's losses was somewhat contreversial and the other was against an annual rival.
Tulsa has improved alot, you have them ranked higher than OU as well. When was the last time Tulsa beat OU?20-30 years ago?
You have Rutgers ranked the same as the Horns?
Last time they came to Austin I really felt sorry for the Scarlet Knights
You have Wash St on your list, yes they gave the Trojans a game, and they had an exciting 2 point vicory over the Baylor Bears.
You have Missu ranked kinda high in my opinion, they are doing good this year, they are lucky they dont face Baylor or Texas this year, however there is no way they will survive OU, A&M,Neb and ISU, if they do they will probably have to face Texas in KC.

Actually I never said West Virginia has no class.
I did say "I think West Virginia is a great team".
Sorry,it did sound like I was implying that West Virginia had no class,I was saying that Ohio State,Florida, and Michigan have not put up the scores West Virginia has put up,but there are two reasons for this, strength of schedule, and class. I do not think West Virginia is a USC that blows teams out,but Michigan and Ohio State could have run the scores up in the fourth like some other schools do,but I think West Virginia has a very good team, and I hope they do well.

I see this season panning out way different than everyone thought. I don't think it's out of the question to see USC lose 2 or 3 and end up meeting LSU in one of these bowls. BTW: LSU would slaughter USC. Never under estimate the Tigers. They beat themselves in Gainsville. Don't think that means any team could do what they did to themselves.

I find it unlikely though, I have serious doubts they can beat Auburn this weekend, then there is the SEC championship. Michigan beating OSU is also doubtfull. Come on, man, you've got to stop! Your killin' me. I'm laughin' so hard that the tears can't stop pourin' outta my face. You guys are down thar goin' on and on about how So Cal can put Washington up on top of Oklahoma - but, you can't on the other hand understand how I got Arkansas ranked higher than Auburn (#11). You actually think that I got them pegged that way in order to bolster USC's position in the polls (like anything I've ever said has made any difference to anyone). No, truth be told, and I told you already - if Florida can get past Auburn then they go to #2 in my book. I really don't care if USC plays for the National Championship this year. I'm really not so sure that they could win it. I'm more pined for next year. I think next year is the year. There are many good teams this year. I'm not tryin' to sell the fact that USC is #2 or #3 or number whatever. It really doesn't matter. There are six or seven games left to play, for all teams, so more interesting developments are sure to happen. It is quite possible that two teams get picked to play in the National Championship game, some other great team gets left out, and wella - the AP people decide to split the Championship again. This may be the year that two teams, again, deserve to have a share. I'll bet you don't like that thought either. But, it could happen. What if Michigan takes down Ohio State? Florida, Michigan, USC and West Virginia or Louisville are all unbeaten. What then? Who do you send? I know the answer is easy for you (Florida and Michigan). But, by that time USC may have won 57 of the last 59 games. If they get slighted like that (after playing the toughest schedule in the country - it's possible), and they went out and demolished someone in the "next best bowl game", what my the voters think then. It happened a couple of years ago when LSU squeeked by Oklahoma and USC embarassed Michigan in the Rose Bowl. Might happen again. So, yammer on and on and on. We'll see how it all shakes down in the end. BRING ON THE BEARS!

Hey So-Cal what happened man get a burr under your saddle? Almost does matter, however not in the win column. The CU Buffs loss to UGa showed us that CU Buffs are alot better team than their 0-6 record shows, it also shows the pollsters that UGa propably shouldn't have been ranked top ten.
That game gave the CU Buffs the confidence it needed the following week,They played hard against Baylor and the game went into 3 OT's.
As an objective college football fan you must agree that close is what we all want in a game.
We have seen alot of great games so far this season, by great games I mean the ones that could go either way, or down to the end{ close ones }.
Baylor vs Wash St Army vs A&M A&M vs TTech
Houston vs Rice CU vs UGa Wash vs USC
Albam vs Ark Baylor vs TCU USC vs Wash St.
Balyor vs CU Neb vs KU ISU vs Toledo
Houston vs Miami and Rose Bowl 05 & 06
I hope you understand, that ya close does mean sh!t.Ask Guy Morris a coach that went 5-6 last season with two OT losses. The Bears come to Austin this Saturday. My argument is that a 3-3 Bears team is probably better than some 6-0 teams.
    Hookem-Horns
P.S. 3-2 Sooners are another example

Actually, Oregon did not BEAT OU, but OU did LOSE to Oregon (and the officials). Despite the bad calls they still could have WON. The officials did not allow 2 TD's in the last 3 minutes, nor did they block a field goal.

Regarding to post 43 and 56, first of all to Tomcat, I agree and don't see how SoCal can put Washington over Oklahoma in his fantasy poll. And SoCal, Arizona is what 2-4 and Fresno State is 1-4, plus OU beat the Huskies by 17 points. OU lost to the defending national champion and lost by 1 point in a controversial game at Oregon. So how does that make Washington rank higher over OU? I guess is it because they've played 6 games compared to OU's five? Go Sooners!

    Tomcat, TMac... on Oklahoma,

Well first-off, as always a Win is a Win - you should know that Mac.
Tomcat, I make you laugh??? Tomcat you are now saying what I've Been Saying about the Polls and where teams are Ranked (your reference to Georgia). LET THEM EARN IT!!! There are a few examples that SCREAM this out loud.

West Virg, LSU, Texas, Georgia, VTech - none of those teams "Deserve" the Ranking that they have in the so-called ~Polls~ Theres no way "No. 5" West Virginia has EARNED a #5 Ranking (facing 3-2 Maryland and 4 other chumps). A couple of teams like "No. 6" Texas and "No. 16" LSU, are fluffed-up by the media-percetion (not deserving of degree of the benefit-of-the-doubt that they're getting). VTech, argueably hasnt even EARNED a Top 25 Ranking!

Im not alone on this Tomcat... None of the BCS computer Ratings have 3-2 Oklahoma Ranked higher than #25... and 4 out of the 5 BCS Ratings have 4-2 Washingon Ranked #24 or Better (two of them have Washington ranked #13!). The Ratings dont look at "style points", or Referee-conspiracies, they dont carry any media bias's (ei, looking for what would make a better story-line), they dont care about a team's name recognition/tradition/popularity or any other Hype-B.S.

TTech plays the Buffs on the road and you never know who's going to show up.
Missu is firing on all cylinders and the Aggies have had some struggles. The game is at Kyle Feild.
It just depends on who wants it bad enough. The Big XII is simular to SEC in that just about anybody can beat anybody on a given day.

    easternfan, pay attention.

    USC beat...
    4-1 Arkansas (Road)
    5-1 Nebraska
    4-2 Washington St (Road)
    4-2 Washington
    2-4 Arizona (Road)

Only Michigan, Ohio St, and Florida are in the vicinity of that Record & SOS.

Arkansas it the team the probably has been the most Under-appreciated, Under-"Ranked" or whatever you wanna call it, by the Media, Polls, & fans... A win is a Win! Fugk the "style point" and "winning pretty". This is Football, a Win is a Win.

Arkansas has earned a Top 10 Rankings...
their only Loss is to USC (5-0) and they have Wins over 5-1 Auburn and 4-2 Bama. COMPARE that to other teams out there that are Supposedly "top 10" (or top 15 even)... Honestly LOOK INTO IT! Do me a personal favor and Compare for yourself, Texas to Arkansas. Look at who they beat, who they lost to. Its not even Close, Arkansas as A-c-c-o-m-p-l-i-s-h-e-d More At This Point In The Season! (meaning in terms of Wins and Losses... thats what the Rankings Should be about! and not Pie-in-the-Sky B.S. like "potential", or "close wins/close losses", or based on style points, etc). As Arkansas goes on and ends up LOSING later in the Season, THEN is WHEN Arkansas should drop in the Rankings... As LSU and WVU go on start Beating Quality Teams, THEN is WHEN they should Earn their spot in the Rankings.

Enough with the Welfare System that exists in the Polls! Let Them Earn It!!!

    - Ohio St - (4 Home, 2 Road)
    Texas 5-1
    Iowa 5-1
    Penn St 4-2
    No Ill 4-2
    Cincy 3-3
    BGreen 3-3

    - Florida - (5 Home!, only 1 Road???)
    Tennessee 5-1
    Bama 4-2
    LSU 4-2
    So Miss 3-2
    Kentucky 3-3
    UCF 2-3

    - USC - (2 Home, 3 Road!!!):
    Arkansas 4-1
    Nebraska 5-1
    Washington 4-2
    Wazzu 4-2
    Arizona 2-4

    Michigan - (4 Home, 2 Road):
    Notre Dame 5-1
    Wiscy 5-1
    Michigan St 3-3
    Minnesota 2-4
    Cent Mich 3-3

eastfan, those who DONT have a solid criteria that justifies their "logic", are just talking out of their A~~.

I dont do my rankings based on "what I think" is GOING TO HAPPEN... its about What teams have Already Accomplished to Date! It changes from week to week. Ohio State doesnt "Need to Lose" for them to be DROPPED from the No. 1 Spot! Depending on what happens, Florida could jump to No.1 after Week 7's Results.

The whole business dealing with Teams' Rankings and SOS Ratings - it really is all inter-dependent. To Ohio St it matter how Texas does, how Northern Illinois does, etc... to USC it matter how Arkansas does, how Nebraska does, etc... And its ALWAYS about the PRESENT! Like I said about Arkansas, as they go on to LOSE (as most expect them to do) then USC's SOS will Drop Accordingly; But not until Then! Just the inverse is true with LSU, West Virginia, etc (most of us expect them to go on and win, and END UP as a Top 10, Top 15 team, but they've not yet Proven it, presently).

Ok USC USMC, not bad, however I just dont think any of those teams are really that good. My belief is not one of them will finish with less than 4 losses. Most with more. I understand what your saying about SOS to date. No argument from me on that. Who gets to be top 10, you've eliminated everybody except USC. Lets make USC 1-10 and let OSU be 11, Florida 12, Michigan 13 etc.

"Who gets to be top 10, you've eliminated everybody except USC. Lets make USC 1-10 and let OSU be 11, Florida 12, Michigan 13 etc."

How do you define good? Subjectively or statistically? It seems like you aren't basing on statistics, or at least not the on the stat of wins and losses.

Or else, why would not think that Florida, Michigan, USC, or Ohio State are good? What more could they do in order to be good in your eyes?

these rankings are worse than a Ponzi Scheme. When there is this much parity, the current system falls apart. Strength of schedule is a poor data point to judge a team's superiority, because it is based from the get-go on rhetoric. The top teams need to actually play each other. And after this season, when you have a slew of 11-1 teams that lost on close margins, the playoff bandwagon will get even louder.
