2007 Playboy All-America Team & Coach of the Year
Although the announcement came in May, Playboy has finally published its 2007 Playboy All-America Team list as well as the 2007 Playboy Coach of the Year.

OFFENSE: Left to right, top to bottom: Jake Long, lineman, Michigan; Ryan Clady, lineman, Boise State; Barry Richardson, lineman, Clemson; Sam Baker, lineman, USC; Limas Sweed, receiver, Texas; Jere Myito, placekicker, Rutgers; Cody Wallace, center, Texas A&M; Mario Manningham, receiver, Michigan; Steve Slaton, running back, West Virginia; DeSean Jackson, kick returner, California; Ray Rice, running back, Rutgers; Brian Brohm, quarterback, Louisville; Darren McFadden, running back, Arkansas.
It's always surprising to me how guys like Clady end up at a mid-major, like Boise State.

DEFENSE: Left to right, top to bottom: Dallas Griffin, Anson Mount Scholar/Athlete, Texas; Tommy Blake, lineman, Texas Christian; Calais Campbell, lineman, Miami; Chris Long, lineman, Virginia; Glenn Dorsey, lineman, LSU; Chris Miller, punter, Ball State; Antoine Cason, secondary, Arizona; Aqib Talib, secondary, Kansas; Chris Horton, secondary, UCLA; Dwight Lowery, secondary, San Jose State; Keith Rivers, linebacker, USC; James Laurinaitis, linebacker, Ohio State; Erin Henderson, linebacker, Maryland.
Coach Of The Year: Urban Meyer - Florida
It only took Urban Meyer two years to accomplish the goal of winning a national championship at Florida. And the Gators accomplished the feat despite a schedule ranked as the toughest by the NCAA, a schedule that included six ranked teams and 11 teams that played in bowl games. But then Urban is accustomed to success, having arrived at Florida the year after guiding Utah to a perfect 12-0 season, the school's first in 75 years. Meyer began his head coaching success story at Bowling Green in 2001 where he engineered a six-win improvement over the previous season. His head coaching career record is an impressive 61-12.

Lucky: Three out of twenty-six from the SEC, plus the coach. It's a popularity contest. What do you want? The SEC proves it out on the field.
Now, if you'd just look at that party school list to see where the SEC ranks...

I would have threw a fit if Calais Campbell did not make the list. Expect him to take home some serious hardware when the season is over. Can you say....top ten NFL draft pick? OR he could just blow out his knee and have to work for a living. :O)

How could Kenny Phillips not make the team as a safety? C-Dogg, I agree that Campbell is going to be taking home some hardware after the season, but he is regarded by many as the second best player on the Miami defense. According to collegefootballnews.com "Safety Kenny Phillips and end Calais Campbell might be the two best defensive players in the nation"

(#21) Tampa Hurricane,
Kenny Phillips didn't make the team because of the 7-6 record (no respect). I'm sure Ken and his family won't mind come NFL draft time. Isn't that more important? Well maybe not because of the Playboy mansion visit! ;o)
I went to high school and college with a player who made the Playboy team (Steve Tovar/Ohio State Linebacker). He said that there was no raunchy party thrown for them. He was bitterly disappointed! :O)

OU Ron: Don't let all the longhorn manure get to you, (I know you won't) You folks who are trashing OU's fans need to look in the mirror, many fans at other schools are obnoxious. And by the way everytime I read the sports page, another college athlete from many different schools has been arrested. The latest, one from
Arkansas. 90% of OU bashers are jealous their teams do not have 1 national championship, let alone 7.
