Vote now for the cover of EA NCAA Football 2009
EA Sports has announced that NCAA Football 09 will appear on the Nintendo Wii and -- to celebrate -- they're giving fans an opportunity to vote on the cover!
NCAA Football 09 for Wii will feature EA SPORTS Family Play, as seen in NBA Live, Madden NFL and FIFA. EA SPORTS Family Play is a multiplayer, social experience that allows novice users to compete against advanced players and still enjoy success. Regardless of the gamer's ability or skill level, EA SPORTS Family Play creates an accessible and rewarding gaming interaction for all to enjoy. In this new style of play, users are given the option to choose Advanced or Family Play when entering a game. Advanced users take complete control of all aspects of gameplay, while players who choose Family Play are given control of key actions on the Wii Remote - such as passing, snapping, and kicking - while letting the game’s AI control player movement.
...
"Nintendo is excited to have NCAA Football 09 available for Wii. In my family, NCAA Football has always been a family event," said Steve Singer, Nintendo of America’s vice president of Licensing. "Now with the Family Play mode from EA we can share the football experience all year long."
NCAA Football 09 will be available later this summer on all of your favorite gaming platforms!

Zac, what's wrong with skinny legs? It's better than having a walking nut (Ohio State) or a walking orange (Syracuse) a tree with legs (Stanford) or a big red blob with legs (Western Kentucky).
OU-Ron, OU-Fan, or Lennie what is OU's mascot exactly? I know the schooner wagon is one, but don't you guys have like some kind of a horse mascot now or something? I know people get confused by Bevo the steer and Hook Em the costumed mascot. I wonder how many teams have both a costumed mascot and a living one? Interesting.........

I think they should hitch the Sooner Schooner to Ralphie the buffalo and see what happens...
40 Hectares: That red blob of Western Kentucky, is that the one that looks like the illegitimate child of Grimace and Pac Man?

Tomcat (Post 12), if history continues to repeat itself, Wake will be UConn. Then, UConn will beat Baylor, and Baylor will be Wake. I guess we'll see soon enough. (Actually, NOT soon enough to suit me.)
40 Acres (Post 6), I'm just reminded of that ole song, where the refrain goes, "Now, don't you worry about a dog gone thing a'tall, Hep! Hep! because there's someone, somewhere who'll take you, skinny legs and all."
You are right about OSU's, Syracuse's, and W KY's mascots. Though, what ever is in OSU's, apparently it packs a punch. Having a fruit for a mascot, on the other hand... And, what is that think W KY calls their mascot?!? Makes ya wanna scratch your sack.

Hey U of SC 1978 You right unfoutunatly a chicken is at the bottom of the food chain, as a matter of fact just about all carnivours eat chickens, doesnt matter what coach you got.
Bears and Eagles are at the top of the food chain so it only makes sense to put the Baylor Bear on the cover and not a food source like a chicken.
Sicem-Bears
P.S. now you can go off like L.C. my good buddy

I wonder who would win in a Texas cage match between the South Carolina Gamecock and the San Diego Chicken?
I wonder why a lot of the teams' mascots aren't represented? Did the schoold forbid them to compete in a virtual competition?

WarEagATL I was kinda wondering the same thing as to why some schools mascots are not represented. The Baylor Bear mascot is really purty cool and so is the Rice Owl.BTW an owl will kill a chicken even a rooster,I've seen them swoop down in broad daylight and bite a roosters head off.Could the Rice football team beat the S.C. Gamecocks, I dont know, but then again anything is possible, they beat the Southeren Miss Golden Eagles. When UL Monroe beats Bama and Stanford beats USC, I guess the Rice Owls could pull off the upset, that is why the game is played.
Go Rice Owls
P.S. far as cage matches I imagine that Shasta the Cougar would like a rematch with that Oregon Duck. There again I beleive a cougar would eat a duck feathers and all.
Go Houston Cougars
When it comes to Mascot vs Mascot would the Fresno St Bulldog pee on the Stanford Tree?Zac said:

TC (Post 24), if Stanford can beat USC-W Coast, Rice can certainly beat the USC-E Coast. That doesn't mean it will actually happen. It only lends more credibility to the possibility.
As far as the unexplainable absence of some Mascots, could be a copy-right issue. Who knows?
(I'd like to see the Gator & the Dragon go at it. Ah, street fighter vs. fantasy.)

I nominate Shawn "THE Machete" Crable of the Michigan Wolverines for his dominating defensive performance and huge potantial that he filled.

wvu_lifer, i had heard that somewhere before that you couldn't do anything with a Buckeye. Maybe OSU should have went with pecan, or walnut. It's so interesting how many people (who aren't from up north) that have no idea what the hell a Buckeye is. No offense to the OSU guys out there. Just find that interesting....

It's the truth, 40 Acres et. al., other than grow em, climb em, sleep in the shade of em, cut em down & burn em, there's nothing you can do with a Buckeye tree. The bark, leaves, nuts, and sap are all poisonous. Not meant as a slight to OSU fans; it's just a fact of nature.
