Open your hearts & minds...We'll Open The Thread!

Lots of interesting matchups this weekend. The two I'll be watching [on ESPN 360 while I'm tailgating on campus at LSU] tomorrow:

Alabama entertains The Fighting Kiffins this weekend in "The SEC Office Had To Protect This 'Traditional' Rivalry' So We Created An Imbalanced Conference Schedule For Everyone" Bowl, where the Nick Saban Athletic Department trotted out NSAD AD Mal Moore to announce that he was the guy that nixed the idea of Tennessee wearing their colors, & not Nick Saban.

Elsewhere around the SEC, we have an interesting matchup between the Dan Mullen coached MSU Bulldogs vs. Tim Tebow & the suddenly very mortal looking Florida Gators. This one appeals to me if for no other reason that both teams seem to be affected by Mullen's movement to Starkville.

MSU is averaging over 27 points per game in 2009, up from 15.6 last year, and its obvious that if Mullen can attract some quality SEC-caliber athletes to stock State's roster with, and perhaps develop some depth, they could rise up from the cellar of the SEC West.

On the other side of the field, the combination of Tebow's continued reticence, & Brandon Spike's continued problems with his crotchular region may conspire to make this a bit of an interesting game. Especially since Mullen knows the ins & outs of Gator Head Coach Urban Meyer's program/roster/team/head.
