107th ranked offense ready to "rev it up"?

After leading the West Coast attack to the lofty height of the nation's 107th ranked offense, Nebraska Cornhuskers football coach Bill Callahan says it's time to "rev it up".

"I knew I'd have to be patient with what was going to go on here," the second-year Cornhusker coach said Tuesday. "I've been patient. Now it's time to rev it up."

Hello, Bill? Rev it up? You've barely beat Maine, Wake Forest and Pitt. A decent Iowa State team rolls into town and you think the Huskers are ready to "rev it up"?!

Husker fans: If I were you, I think I would be revving up a ticket out of town for Callahan.

Hiring Callahan and firing Frank Stolich was the biggest mistake Nebraska ever made. First season under Callahan...say good bye to a winning record. The west coast offense is just not Nebraska football. Bring Stolich back!!

Callahan will revive NU football for good. The west coast offense will surpass the rediculous excuese the Red Raiders call an offense with like 65 passing attempts a game???? Yeah, that might work for beating three I-AA teams in a row but the big red will wreak havoc on a weak defense and a team with no running game

"a team with no running game"

Let's not forget the records Taurean Henderson (Tech RB) has, and that he just became the all time leading scorer for the Red Raiders. Remember Tech as a traditional "hi-diddle-diddle-run-up-the-middle" school under Dykes. So this record speaks for itself.

And, as for beating I-AA schools, how about last year when #4 ranked Cal said we don't care what team from Texas we play, we're going to beat them. As I recall, Tech flat out won that game, no arguments. I guess it takes a team from West Texas to show the West Coast offense.

Nebraska will pick up over time, but don't count your chickens before they hatch. They aren't there yet.

Yeah, just like the Callahack's Huskers beat up on D1-AA Maine and pathetic Wake Forest and an even more pathetic Pitt. The Worst Coast Offence is really thriving against week teams. Callahack has sucked as a coach everywhere he's been, that won't change at Nebraska.

Yeh, and it still took 2OT to beat a very mediocre ISU team. Keep drinking the KoolAid! Your wake up call is coming, Texas Tech on the horizon.

Mediocre? What ever you say Greg. ISU was in the top 25 and has a stellar offense. I don't think I'd call them mediocre. I would have to agree that the earlier posters bashing Callahan better start enjoying eating their words, because in the next few years Nebraska's offense will be dominating. It takes a bad fan to completely judge a coach on his first season using players not recruited for his system. Give him time. If Nebraska can post 400+ passing yards with this current offense, just think what it will be like when callahan's big name recruits start to play in the coming years. All I have to say is USC better watch out in 2007. As for Tech, bring 'em on. They may have more talent right now, but it's no easy task winning a game in memorial stadium.

not to mention the nebraska blackshirts are back....26 sacks so far. The mediocre Kansas deffence sack the tech QB 5 times last week....Tech was in a friendly inviroment. The top ranked husker pass rush will get to their QB...And Tech's deffence gives up an average of 300 yards a game....to WEAK opponents...PAY BACK is all i see on the horizon

What is it with you all.face the fact Callahan is here to stay. stop your crying and deal with it. us fans have been spoiled by the past.
even if we end the season with a no loss record you still wouldnt be happy.
and being a husker that has been transplanted in IA. ISU is nothing to hold your nose at . they are a very good team and getting better all the time. so why dont you all grow up and sit back and enjoy the season

I notice it is now Nov. 6, and there are no more comments from those so called great nu fans. KANSAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. Maybe you better think about having a nebraska bowl, so you can at least go to a bowl game. Invite, maybe, the Texas high school all-stars. It would be a good game and maybe you could find some new recruits.
