Notre Dame goes yellow-ish

Change is under way at Notre Dame and 'The Shirt' is getting the full-on Carson Kressley treatment.

After three straight years of green, the students will be decked out in a very B.C. yellow-ish.

Word on campus is...not good.

...the general reception of the Shirt among students has been unmistakably negative. Perhaps the most common complaint about the new look has been the color.

"I think the change was a good idea, with the change of coach, but I don't like the color," freshman Chris Doughty said. "How would you even describe this color? This doesn't convey Notre Dame to me."
Many students expressed distaste for the "golden" hue, arguing that not only does the color fail to represent Notre Dame, but rather it reflects the look of rival universities.

"It's not gold, it's yellow," freshman Cormac Harkin said. "It looks like the [Boston College] "superfan" shirt - and we don't want to copy B.C. in any way, shape or form."

Other students think the tagline messages are a little...fruity.

The Shirt, which is golden-yellow in color, features a front with the scripted tagline, "The Spirit Lives." The back depicts Irish football players praying together and reads, "If you could find a way to bottle the Notre Dame spirit, you could light up the universe."

Let's see...you're going to wear a yellow shirt at Michigan, with a slogan about lighting the universe?

Yeah, it's just a shirt, but it's "The Shirt". Here's some photos and details. Notre Dame gets a very stale mustard "F" from me on this one.

    That shirt is indeed terrible. I think my freshman year was The Shirt that featured a pink lightning bolt that lit up Knute Rockne's smiling face in a very creepy way.

    For about ten years they just used two lines from the Victory March for the slogan, but now they're resorting to nonsense. What's wrong with a green shirt that just says Irish Football 2005 on it?

    Thats bull, it had nothing to do with the color of his skin. If anything, thats the only reason he got the job in the first place. The shirts are indeed pretty ugly, I wont be buying one.
